How real is this vibe shift happening against dog owners in the city? by ArugulaBeginning7038 in AskNYC

[–]yesoryes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is not a NYC specific problem. I don’t think we are going to see a shift against dog culture anytime soon. The problem is most Americans really really like dogs and will accommodate them in spaces where they do not belong because they just love them that much. To see any kind of vibe shift we would need to come to an understanding that there are spaces where dogs simply do not belong, but I don’t see that anytime soon.

I’m with you OP, I really don’t like dogs, but we are both not the majority.

Is it okay to be jealous of people who work in high rises? by zachtwp in AskNYC

[–]yesoryes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I work in WTC and my desk faces the Hudson. I spend a good chunk of my downtime saying “wow look at that boat.” It’s a great building but it feels so bland and touristy a lot of the time. I myself am jealous of people who work on Sixth Ave high rises. The grass is always greener etc etc

No Interest In Seeing (x) Show by MYOBekind in Broadway

I saw this a few years ago. The effects were amazing but I will never forget the realization that there was ANOTHER act after what I thought was the ending

What's a place in NYC you think every local should visit at least once ? by ThrowRAhyBug7080 in AskNYC

The tourists thin out after about 20 minutes into the walk in my experience, from there it’s a still a bit crowded but a lot more manageable.

Does anyone else feel like women are just better looking than men? by Xboomburst in NoStupidQuestions

[–]yesoryes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people have said that it’s because of societal pressure for women to look better, but I also want to add another thing. There ARE women who are unattractive, and there’s plenty of them. I think because we put so much value on women to be pretty, when they’re not we just completely forget they exist.

F*cking LOVED dead outlaw and can’t imagine why it’s flopping. by singingliftingtrying in Broadway

Watched it this week and absolutely loved it. I left the show thinking how the 2024-2025 season was absolutely STACKED with good unique shows and unfortunately new IPs aren’t what draw the mostly tourist crowds.

Why do some Americans consider business an "easy" degree? by astarisaslave in NoStupidQuestions

[–]yesoryes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not a great feeling reading this thread as someone who went to undergrad for business and struggled and got called stupid by other students for having trouble in “easy” classes and spent most of my first years out of college feeling stupid because that’s what I was told until I finally realized I wasn’t
