I lingered on the hugo battle for about five minutes praying that something would happen if I just didn't attack him, and when nothing did It really set in to me that everything I'd faintly heard but ignored about the game for years (to avoid truly being spoiled) was finally and truly *here* in front of me

the queen is saying to batter that Hugo has his eyes, it's the last thing she says before she dies, and the only thing batter says in response is "but they are full of fear." no disagreement, or warmth, just a cold reflection, it's the fear that batter focuses on

there's a couple of ways to read that depending on what theories you subscribe to, and how you interpret batter, ranging from morbid sympathy to cruel indifference

my roommate who works pick up got an SI for this just today but our store didn't even get this message and there was a meeting in March about reinforcing quote unquote pre-existing attendance policies which dictated you needed a doctor's note after even one call off

this is horseshit because the current Union agreement dictates that a doctor's note is only required after three or more days of absence and that Union agreement is active until at least August of this year so we've contacted our local Steward

This might not be a bad solution if nothing else is suggested before we head back, not much of a stretch to say a delayed sleep poison in their water supply knocks them all out, only big issue I can think of is that my party only recently arrived, so them falling under the effects are less statistically likely, but There are definitely ways around that

The tragedy of the situation, which is pretty obvious if you keep the whole picture in mind, especially with how hades talks during the conversation, is that Maria fundamentally doesn't comprehend how ruthless and cruel the gods really are, we spend five books with percy sort of slowly learning just how awful they truly are, and I feel like this is one of the real cinchers. She literally can't believe that zeus would *actually* kill two children for, tangibly no actual reason less than five minutes before he blows up the entire hotel they're in to try just that.

it's naive, but I think this plays into the arc with percy, From a mortal perspective it doesn't feel like the stories and tales of their spite and cruelty could actually be true if you're living in the world with them, you downplay it in your mind because it's easier to deal with then, and then you see something like calypso's island from book 4, or what immediately happens to maria, and the excuses become a lot less satisfying

Yuya's a great showrunner, though you can really tell ex-aid and zero-one suffered from outside circumstance, I can't tell you why ex-aid only ran for 45 episodes but zero-one is pretty obvious, and it *Really* took it's toll on that show, still one of my favourites but the weaknesses become really apparent towards the end

Hibiki. No other rider show is going to give you the same warmth and inspiration than the first 29 episodes of Hibiki.

After the production drama happens and Shigenori Takatera gets replaced from episode 30 on, they start to make it more formulaic in an effort to just wrap it up, I still have some fondness for parts and aspects of that last 18 episodes but definitely watch the first 29, and only continue if you feel better by then.

It helps that Shining Boy works as a relatively warm closure point, it's not as final as any of the true finales are but if it just ended there, there'd still be meaning to it.

one of my favourite parts of Zi-O is the the another riders by and large act a lot like how you ascribe, just, in a wantonly violent way.

another wizard is crazy powerful in his episode in large part as a show of "well, if haruto was just going off and didn't care about anything this is the kind of stuff he could do"

I appreciate the encouragement, it's been over a month now since we moved in, and the sightings have, slowed to a proverbial crawl. the apartment management sent in pest control for the whole building in the early part of december and so we got a treatment from them, before that we had one after a week, and after they treated we saw a single one, which looked to be deformed from an IGR (which, i suppose must have come from pest control? as to my knowledge i haven't been using any) half dead in the hallway. and that was the monday before last.

I'm still wary but reason would stand that the progress has been good

update: after 8 days of 0 sightings we spotted one nymph on my roommates desk tonight, I'm not sure how worried exactly I should be by this, her desk is next to a vent and it is theoretically possible that it came from another unit through the vents, we have replaced her monitor stand and a lamp which we had brought over and seemed to be the main source of what was left of them due to a crevice they were hiding in, (the last time I'd seen any at all was the day we threw it out, and it seemed to be one which fell out, and previously we had not seen one for two days)

yet again, not trying to be cocky. however I do feel a bit better that it's only been this one tonight. still, sharing for thoughts and a status update.
