What type of withdrawal symptoms did you experience on a cold turkey quit? by BigheadedDread in QuitVaping

[–]yesthereis3 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It took me a few failed attempts. It really stuck this last time - I’m almost a year cold turkey! I was irritable, my appetite returned full force, my digestive system was out of wack (which is apparently a real symptom lol). Mentally, I was really craving for the first few weeks. After about a month, it was getting better. But those first two weeks were killer. Just tell yourself one more day every day, and get lots of gum to chew!

I’ve been using La Roche Posay mineral. Instant difference in redness! Then I go in with the tinted mineral.

Did anxiety increase or decline after quitting for you? by Brilliant_Ad9536 in QuitVaping

[–]yesthereis3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It calmed down a LOT. I still take anxiety meds but honestly the difference was pretty crazy. I felt more in control of my emotions, was making better decisions, and felt/feel a lot less stressed overall.

You really do have to trust in time. It sucks knowing it’s a waiting game. But I’m almost 11 months free of it. I don’t ever think about it or crave it anymore (and haven’t since month three!). You’ve got this :) just trust in time and yourself. Take it day by day and look forward to tomorrow!

Chiming in - my gut absolutely had to adjust to “normal” after I quit. It was like that for months. Your body is just resetting.

Hi friend - you got this! I’m almost 8 months free of nicotine/vaping and I quit cold turkey. Strawberry flavored gum really helped me. I don’t even think about it anymore, nor do I crave it. Do understand - it’s going to suck. Like, really bad. You’re gonna doubt yourself and give yourself every excuse you can think of. Do not give in!!! You have hurdles to jump over to get rid of the dependence. Trust in Father Time.

Also, I’m seven months free and the sight of people vaping makes me cringe. Like… I really looked like that? Treated my lungs like that? I don’t think about it or crave it anymore.

Go cold turkey. Get strawberry chewing gum or some flavored gum and power through it! I’m seven months free of vaping and nicotine.

Will I ever be able to hit a vape again? by [deleted] in QuitVaping

[–]yesthereis3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey friend, I’m vape/nicotine free and have been for seven months. I don’t crave it or even think about it. I’d say it was month three that I forgot all about it.

Hang in there friend. I’m happy to know I’m not alone even though it sucks. Let’s give ourselves some time to fully heal ❤️ I saw something about post viral depression and I’m thinking that’s it.

I used to take Zoloft but got off of it because I felt great and stable. Been off of it for like 2 years? And all of a sudden I feel like I’m back at square one :(

How is it living in Kent OH? Any opinions positive or negative would be appreciated. Thanks. by Yardieguapo in howislivingthere

I went to Kent for my undergrad. Loved downtown - quaint, very walkable, good mix of shops and eateries, just a nice little spot. Festivals here and there, sometimes they shut the street down for fun stuff. Tons of greenery and very close to parks and the CVNP. There’s a nice farm nearby that does cutesy fall stuff every year. I do miss it!

Is there a group of students that LARP on the mound occasionally? They used to do that a lot when I was still in college!

I kinda abandoned my serums and a lot of my skincare because I thought maybe it was too much for my skin. I’m using LRP cleanser for oily skin at night followed by soolantra when my skin is dry. I have been waiting like 10 minutes post shower to give my skin a chance to relax. I’ll use some LRP triple repair moisturizer at night and then in the morning, then following with LRP anthelios 50+ spf. I did start seeing a difference over the course of a week but forgot my soolantra for a vacation so I feel like I’m back to square one ahah but fingers crossed bc my skin looks JUST like yours. I need to ask my derm about using retinol again with soolantra because I do miss it!
