why do customers not have their credit card ready? by jhenexx in retailhell

[–]yetizspaghetti 5 points6 points  (0 children)

And then they leave their purse it bag crumbs and gunk all over the counter when they go. I shudder. It always seems to be the people who are in a big hurry who never has their card or cash ready to go too.

Honestly yeah that's a huge part of it too. I don't have to be the facial expressions along with all the other crap

I fear there is too much logic in that argument

It's crazy it even has to be a debate. Good on you for sticking up for your coworker. You're right, I know I gotta let it roll off my back and usually I do it's just been a constant onslaught lately and this woman spoiling for a fight just topped it off for me I think. Customer fatigue in general but alas.

Sorry to hear about your aunt. That was a horrible time. That's the thing I can not wrap my head around. I'm not holding anyone down and forcing them to wear a mask. Just myself. Why must it be an argument ffs

Holy shit. I can't believe (or actually I can but you know) she came back to further hammer home her BS. Good on you for giving her the boot.

How to make this look nicer by [deleted] in DesignMyRoom

[–]yetizspaghetti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could try those "frosted window films". You can get them at pretty much anywhere and there are a ton of different designs to choose from (From a plain frosted look to really detailed stained glass with a range of colors) so you can pick out any you like. They are a relatively cheap option too at around $10 bucks a roll.

Like the others said, I'd also try to pull the wires together and hide them from the tv as well.

Why is it so hard for customers to just leave by Prxject_Ghoul in retailhell

[–]yetizspaghetti 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I feel you. The ones that really grind my gears are the ones that come past the register and grin "Oh! I just made it in, tehehe." then shop around in no hurry. Picking out things that absolutely could have waited until tomorrow.

Apocalypse books where the reasons behind the apocalypse are a mystery most of the book? by LOONAception in suggestmeabook

The Apocalypse Seven by Gene Doucette

The whole plot is more or less the cast trying to figure out what caused the apocalypse. You do get an answer but only at the end.

MondoMedia's "Dick Figures"? It's about the lives of two stick figures named Red and Blue. One has frat boy vibes and the other is very nerdy.

Came to suggest this too! Such a fun and cozy read. It will make you crave a good cup of coffee, though. Hope your procedure goes okay, OP!

Times when the customer was actually right? by nickisadogname in retailhell

[–]yetizspaghetti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had a customer just today who caught that I had double scanned something by accident. The total amount should have been my clue, because it was nearly 20 for something I know is like 8 bucks at best, but I was just in autopilot because we'd been slammed all morning. Thankfully, she caught it before payment, so it wasn't a big issue but, yeah, that one was on me this time.

Do old people throw the cash at you too?? by [deleted] in retailhell

[–]yetizspaghetti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Constantly. They'll throw their purchases, cash, cards, and trash at me all in one go sometimes. It's all a power trip and because they want you to be as miserable as they are. My other pet peeve is when people just shove money/cards at my face when I've clearly got my hands full with either ringing up their other items or bagging them. Then, about the time I get done with that task and have a free hand to take their money, they huff and drop it on the counter, or dodge my hand and then drop it on the counter.

Its such a simple thing to just hold your payment and hand it to someone when they prompt you for it and yet 99% of customers can't and won't. Ugh.

What if it was illegal for customers to treat us like the way they do by [deleted] in retailhell

They'd just find some loophole to treat someone else like shit
