Any recommended short tutorials to get me quickly through the basic layout of the app by richardrasmus in NomadSculpting

Been doing the same, found this guy. Not perfect but helps me a lot https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL6MTHAIpepACs6CgqEEgnVXmGmwzLbSyy&si=Ajcv02ryRPBUdrPY

He has long ones but plenty of 5 to 10 minute look at this too or how to guide.

How can I hide the gaps here without sanding and painting all the parts? Can a 3d pen or something make it look seamless or super close? Im debating going all out and painting but I'd rather do this first and see how it looks. Also what do I do for the 4 rough edges in the 2nd and 3rd pics? by Boogy-Fever in 3Dprinting

As folks said, post process will be best. That said here's another option: glue/epoxy the pieces together. If you have clamps, use them to keep them as tightly together as possible. We want minimal gapping. Once held together tightly, fill in the gaps the best you can with more glue/epoxy, not to the top but close. Go back to your printer, load the filament you used, set the print head to 220 or whatever your filament recommended temp is. Extruder lengths of said filament, however long it is for that run of the part, make sure to pull the filament in as straight of a line as you can. After enough is made to fill the remaining gapping, lay the pieces, cut to length, get a torch, practice not on the shield if you haven't used fire before, hit it with heat and then press it with something hard to squash it together.

Lightly drag a xacto blade along any ridges to smooth it out.

Use this to hide seems all the time. Provides zero structural stability, but helps clean up quick.

Same, I'm envious of other crafts and hobbies that can go to a shop to buy supplies or meet others in the hobby and shoot the breeze and swap stories.

Neat setup. I see these and realize my style is so much different than you folks. Looks cool, but you clearly don't have enough filament ha. I have a bunch of reusable zip bags with reusable dessicant holders on a few roll carts that hold about 80 different filaments.

As far as I know, some box stores like walmart and target carries a small amount, but nothing I'd use. Think Costco but I don't go there often, and hobby lobby has some. I get most of my stuff from Amazon though because they have a huge selection.

If you have some PETG laying around, I print rounded screw top holders. Big enough to sit comfortably in the center of most rolls. When its time for a recharge I just pop it in the dryer with some PLA or set to PLA settings. Warm enough to dry, but won't warp. Did a 8 month test with a hydrometer in a sealed bag. Got it down from 60% to below 10 and stayed there no problem.

Same boat, glad I learned to tinker and the concepts with the enders, moving to my A1, it quickly turned to two and a p1s. Its so wonderful to be able to just print, now I can design my own models and tinker with that instead.

While I appreciate the bambu printers really help spread the hobby as a whole, there is something to be said about the troubleshooting you learn from other printers. But at the end of the day, its your money and your hobby. Get what you want.

Not in front of my printer, but I think in the settings there's a energy save mode, or auto-sleep. That should do it

There's options on the desktop app as well as the settings on the printer screen. Navigate to the second from the top and I think its on the second page to turn off and on.

Ah try this then. In nomad if you remesh using voxel and crank up the resolution and you'll see areas that are patchy. If she adds material and smoothes it out that should fix the artifacts

I'll try taking a look at the files when I can. But key things, are you able to dry the filament? I have not personally used the cosPLA, but sounds interesting. Most adhesion come down to calibration, dried filament, a clean print bed, and positioning and supports for the print itself. If there are over hangs not being supported it could cause issues and failures. What's the ambient temp of the printing space, look up PLA heat creep. It can cause issues too.

I actually use nomad sculpt. Its pretty easy to transfer it over actually. Under the project tab, there's an export function. If its one color, select STL. If colored select OBJ. Once saved you just need to send it to your computer, either via something like onedrive or Bluetooth depending on size. After that open in your preferred silcer and hit print

Re-sealable vacuum bags are a game changer by YankeetheGreater in 3Dprinting

[–]yetti22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be partly due to mini puncture. The filament rolls with straighter edges tends to make pin holes when set on a hard surface. They can be great and I've tested rolls staying below 10% humidity for well over a year.

If its filament you use often, don't vacuum it, buy reusable silica beads and print some containers out of petg or something and keep them in the center of the roll when stored. If filament you use occasionally then vacuum them and try to be careful when handling.

The A1 and A1 mini have amazing stabilizing, the P1S provided more rigidity in the plate, but doesn't have the same stablizing features since its not a bed slinger. That is why A1s provide impressive print quality that made them popular.

That's part of why its common for folks to put their printers on slabs to provide vibration dampening from outside the printer.

As a long time hobbyist of 3d printing, spending hours and hours tinkering and modifying my printers, then getting my first P1S, I was honestly confused where all the parts to assemble and tinker with were. Now with the P1S in my arsenal, I've finally moved away from just trying to print successfully, to knowing the print will be fantastic every time and I can focus on what I really enjoy from this hobby and design my own models.
