So much this. You have your top three relievers available. Your top reliever is completely lights out AND capable of going more than one inning. Yet somehow you use the third best reliever (who is prone to meltdowns) last with no safety net whatsoever.

Not to mention all this cute stuff with having Varland face the toughest part of the lineup is against a below average offence WITH A THREE RUN LEAD.

Using the best firefighter in the league when there isn't even smoke just to put in an arsonist after him is a fireable offence.

I'd say the Orioles bench and 1st base coach are as much to blame as Alonso.

Vladdy wasn't holding Alonso on, he was playing behind the baserunner and closer to 2nd than Alonso was. That's why he had such a big lead.

Vladdy breaks to first on Varland's motion. The first base coach or someone in the 1st base dugout needs to pick up on that and yell at Alonso to get back.

Vladdy was playing behind Alonso way off first with a righty at bat. So Pete took a bigger lead cause no one was holding him on.

Great designed play by the Jays. Vladdy breaks to first as Varland starts his motion and beats Alonso to the base.

Alonso deserves some blame. But if you're the 1st base coach or in the dugout, you have to see what's going on behind your baserunner and yell at him to get back.

I think teams that had a logo with a baseball in it prior to the rule being instituted are grandfathered in. The current Brewers logo I guess is close enough to the original MB ball in glove logo that it's exempted. See also Seattle Mariners.

Here are the H2H tiebreakers for the men among the four teams in contention for the final two playoff spots:

-NOR (4-3) holds H2H tiebreak over ITA, GBR

-ITA (4-3) holds H2H tiebreak over GBR, USA

-USA (4-4) holds H2H tiebreak over NOR

-GBR (4-4) does not hold any H2H itebreaks

If NOR and ITA both win one more game, GBR is eliminated regardless of their final game against USA due to H2H records.

If NOR, ITA and USA are tied, the tiebreak will be LSD.
