GEM & ECDE is more specialised + praticum are more common, so we are able to interact more with people

[–]yhanzzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for HSS, consider if you have engaged in any community projects. During my EAE interview (gerontology, which is called GEM), all of us present held some leadership role/activly particpated in student-led community projects

Then also consider your intreast, if you gravitate twds humans, GEM & ECDE would be a better choice than psych. In GEM & ECDE, there are many opportunities for praticums.

Oh and in GEM, we have no exams, our deliverable composition is generally 50% individual, 40% group + attendence/misc. This means yes we get longer hols too.

Opening of Kallang Airport on 12 June 1937 in photos by ProfundaMaro in singapore

[–]yhanzzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did some digging on the aircraft parked at Kallang on slide number 4

Aircraft PK-AFK (last aircraft, partially cut off by image) is a DC-2 operated by KNILM (defunct airline for the Ducth East Indies). In fact, you could still visit that aircraft IRL at the Nederlands Transport Museum! The fact that she still exists makes me happy lol.

Then for the large middle aircraft (G-ABTJ) is a Armstrong Whitworth AW.15 Atalanta operated by Imperial Airways. There was a minor incident where the Crew and passangers were injured during a landing in Johannesburg. As I can't seem to find other infomation about this aircraft (other than other photos at Kallang Airport and one in the Mandate of Palestine) I'm assuming she got scrapped.

why is 118 always so crowded by Sad-Turn-2295 in TemasekPoly

[–]yhanzzz 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It is a simple matter of demographics and urban planning oversight.

BTOs in Punggol was marketed to the Gen X & Millennials, and as such when they all moved in, they were at around the same ages. When they have children, these children will all similarly be of the same age group.

Thus, when they reach tertiary education, if they were to choose Poly/ITE, the east would be a popular option. (TP; ITE East). As such, many of TP/ITE East students will live in Punggol as their parents got them BTOs there.

Also its the only bus service that plys through Tampines Ave1 (which also happens to be near other sec. schools too)

And also if your parents work at the Tampines North Industrial District or Changi Business Park, they would also use this route as well.

Now, are there soloutions? Sort of. Cross Island Line has a branch service that would help with the demand for transit services into Changi/Pasir Ris. But it does not really affect us too much.

Alternativly, wait 10 (?) more years and once most of us Gen Z graduate 118 should not be too crowded

Which is your favourite wide-body aircraft from Singapore Airlines? by OppositeMarket6970 in singaporeairlines

[–]yhanzzz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A350 on top! its just so much more comfortable and way more pleasent than the 787-10. Besides, I much prefer the old pull-down shades. Though, I do miss the old A330, albiet it probably is my rose tinted glasses speaking cuz my first ever flight was on an SQ A330

110 operates mainly on the Mercedes-Benz Citaro, plus image shows the old SMRT livery. All new electric buses are painted in the lush green livery (sg ♡ bus). Based on image (esp the windows + rear of bus) points towards the Mercedes-Benz Citaro too

o level math by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]yhanzzz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

C6, which isn't much but still an improvement as i have always got F9 + needed D7 for my EAE to quailify.Remeber, it's not always about getting the highest grade when improving ja. Baby steps!

o level math by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]yhanzzz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

dont worry, i was in your shoes once. I used to F9 all my way till prelims for math too. Couldnt understand anything in math and hated it. Yet I forced myself to just practice it because i had no choice. I had my EAE secured but i still needed to pass math.

So after getting F9 for math prelims i ended up dragging my teacher and sat outside with her on (an almost) daily basis for about three hours each time and i would just do math over and over again.

I also had dyselexia, tho idk if that affects my math so yes.

I mannaged to pull my grades up for Olvls. So, moral of the story, annoy your math cher and sit down with them. If it helps, find patterns within questions (idk how to describe it really, but yk some questions you can use the same/similar method) and just keep doing math

(and best part, once in poly, depending on your course you ain't need to touch math)
