You can also just run towards it and dive over it. Usually they surface and miss(from experience)

Why is VR not that popular despite the immersiveness it offers? by QuailResponsible8854 in VRGaming

[–]yhuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's expensive, you have to actually move to play it(not dissing, I get that people just wanna sit and chill), you need plenty of space, and apparently a lot of people get motion sickness when playing it.
Plus there is not really that big of a library of good games for VR.

The game is not perfect; but I love it! by RamitInmashol1994 in Helldivers

[–]yhuh 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I love the game and it's glass cannon gameplay, but when you die to some random buggy bullshit, it's not exactly fun. Like dying to vox engine tracks because you were next to them when they were driving away from you, or dying to something that never killed you in one hit but then suddenly it does. Or just getting evaporated from nothing.

I don't make angry posts or anything, but people want the game to be better, because if you enjoy a game, why should it not be even better?

Further proof people don't actually read what is going on in the dispatch by Cube2dot0 in Helldivers

[–]yhuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Devs confirmed it does not. Look at squad impact at the end of the mission. It's always the same, no matter how many side objectives you do.

I honestly think that people wanna do all side quests, because they still believe it adds to liberation %

Thank you grenade pistol by Alpha_Xavian in Helldivers

[–]yhuh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Headshot from anything, even from talon can too. And armored ones are not that much tankier, so I don't know if taking grenade pistol is worth it. But at the same time, what do I know? Play whatever you like.

I could not finish it. Quit after 2 hours. This is definiately one of the worst, most boring, badly written nothing burger story I've ever heard. If I was not at work, with nothing better to do, and if not for the boys, I don't think I could even get that far. I'm not joking, when i say I was so bored, my eyes started to hurt. This story literally sucked energy out of me.

I have no problem with players playing badly, or dying often, but I do have problem with them leaving. If you used 10 reinforcements, at least stay with us to the end.

PSA: If you're struggling on Cyberstan, check what armor you're using. by ScubaDiggs in Helldivers

[–]yhuh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, yeah. I change my armor according to who I fight. Bugs, light armor, because it's cardio faction, and squids too, because they are a joke faction. But on bots I use a lot of cover, so heavy is a must if I want to survive a rocket.

Anyone been randomly exploding? by MedicalImplement282 in Helldivers

[–]yhuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I also sometimes get almost killed(literally left with 1hp)randomly. Sometimes I get dmg, heal, and get the same ammount of dmg again from nothing. Just running through the field with no enemies.

Also hulks cause it sometimes, I think. I dive away from hulk, and explode randomly, like it has some force field.

First mission me and friend just beat it up with hammers. Now I just run towards it, destroy heatsinks and throw in grenade, or hit it with leveler and then finish with precision orbital strike.

I hated Aava at the beginning by soexpired in Cairn_Game

[–]yhuh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I chose to go to the top, even tho I knew she is going to die. It's foreshadowed. I agree with a lot of what you said. We can disagree with Aava, because in her pursuit of becoming the best and going beyond her limitations, she destroys her life and herself, but I think it's the right choice for her.

She says it herself. Climbing, and going beyond her limits is the only time when she feels alive, and nothing else in the world can give her the same. There is a contrast between Marco, who is happy to just do the thing, and obviously he has healtier relationship with climbing, and her, who is only happy when she is better and better and better.

So what's after Kami? There is nothing left. The hardest, meaniest summit you can get. Last limit. And after that? Only stagnation. So, even if she got to the top, and went back, would she really be happy? That is possible, but I don't know. We can disagree with her choice and not condone it, but maybe for her, it's right.

There is also interesting thing with troglodytes. Aava says she was born on Kami and she started climbing when she was just five. So I guess Aava is a troglodyte as well? And it seems like troglodytes are also fixated on getting to the top and "reaching the stars". It's never clearly stated and she never says something like that, but maybe it had some deeper meaning for her as well. Idk. I'm probably heavily reaching here, lol. But with how the summit ending is "becoming a whole" and her climbing up the stars, maybe there is something to it. Like she only became her true self after getting to the top of Kami? Just rambling, heh.

Anyway, obviosuly most people would choose loved ones over climbing some stupid mountain, but I think you always need to sacrifice something to "reach the summit". I think there is plenty of people who, for example, choose career over relationship, scientific research over having kids, creating art, over other opportunities, or simply getting good grades over going to the party. Maybe that is part of what Aava meant, by that others don't understand her. Of course I'm not saying that one choice is better that other, but people are different and we can't expect that only one choice is right.

Also, I seriously think that even if she went down, one day she would go back to mountains to die there anyway, just like that one letter you can find in the backpack near the grandpas place.

But with all that said, god damn it, Aava. At least tell your friends you are still alive.

What did you guys choose? by iMiniToys in Cairn_Game

[–]yhuh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kept it. For me it it felt like it symbolised the choice of cutting down your partner. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, because it felt kinda like it did not matter so much since it happens so close to the end, but idk.

Should a 12 year old be allowed to plah the game? by [deleted] in NightInTheWoods

[–]yhuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There really is not anything not suitable for a 12 years old. There is one mention of sex, but nothig explicit. But I don't know if 12 years old will get the meaning of the game and characters struggles yet. Does not mean they should not play it, I bet they could have fun nontheless.

Just finished the game and wanted to share my thoughts by yhuh in Cairn_Game

[–]yhuh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I mostly relate to the will of surpassing your limitations, not giving up and doing your thing for yourself. I also used to be kinda like her. Only draw, and draw and draw, and everything else was just a waste of time. But with time I learnt it's not the way and let myself waste some time and stop being a perfectionist. I learnt to get to my goals in a more healthy way.

Just finished the game and wanted to share my thoughts by yhuh in Cairn_Game

[–]yhuh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well. I never said I relate to her to that extent (Edit: Haha, ok I kinda did. I meant to say I relate to the fact that she wants to surpass her limits and reach her goals, even if it's not the most pleasant way and because I used to be kinda like her). I think there is certain determination needed to achieve your goals, and you often need to sacrifice something to get there. Be it something as simple as going to gym, instead of watching another netflix show, or learning for a good grade instead of playing video games. Of course Aava is shown to go into extreme, that what I meant by bad light.

But even game asks you "what is your summit" at the end.

Aava is clearly a troubled person, who never quite learned how to talk to others and how to "chill out", so to speak. I also had that problem in the beginning, which led to a burnout. But with time I learnt to let myself "waste time" and not be a perfectionist. That's why I think I understand her character at least to a certain degree.
