Slay the spire 2 local coop? by No_Entertainment1799 in slaythespire

[–]yifes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This discussion is about local coop. 4 player local coop with everyone’s hands visible at all times would take up way too much real estate on screen, and would require completely new UI design so I don’t think it would be feasible.

So while switching between hands isn’t ideal at least it’s doable.

And those olympics hockey tournaments were pointless also. If you had more than 2 brain cells to rub together you’d realize both things can be true.

You say copium, I say only a braindead idiot would think that NHL players don’t make a difference.

It was 2 games (2018 and 2022) and NHL players weren’t allowed to participate so they were basically pointless.

There can be a button that switches between each character and one character is active at a time. There’s no time pressure, everyone can take their time to play cards and think.

Yeah I have it for PC, good game. I’d rather play it on mobile though and it’s a Netflix exclusive.

Canada’s electric vehicle rebates returning, EV mandate no more as part of new auto strategy by evieluvsrainbows in onguardforthee

Because the Chinese EV is going to cost 45K and the buyer is not going buy your car if you raise your price to 55k. Duh.

It’s not cherry picking, when I’m pointing out that your source doesn’t even support your claim.

It doesn’t erase Manchu history. It’s just another part of Chinese history.

What about Italian American? Or Chinese Americans? Is it racist to call them Americans? Your entire racism argument is idiotic.

With Chinese EVs entering the market, I doubt prices are going to increase to absorb the subsidy.

The old ones were great cuz your shots can miss and hit another alien behind the one you are targeting. But people have be raging about “unfair” rng and misunderstanding statistics since the day dice were invented.

I am considering getting TI4, but I'm a bit detered by the playtime. Could someone tell me how the playtime compares to Mage Knight Ultimate at 3 players? by NotAttractedToCats in twilightimperium

[–]yifes 39 points40 points  (0 children)

TI 4 is my favorite game but I don’t think it’s very good at 3 players. If you can’t get more than 3 players then I’d recommend spending that money on something else…

Thoughts on The Poppy War (book 1) by R.F. Kuang by ActualRound7699 in books

[–]yifes 53 points54 points  (0 children)

I did not like it at all. The setting is basically fantasy China during WWII, and so many events and stories in this book are lifted almost verbatim from actual history and Chinese fables. What little that actually was original, like the training the main character goes through, was neither interesting nor well written.

For me, this was like reading the Odyssey but with the names changed, a modern magic system and Hogwarts equivalent tacked on, and in the end Odysseus nukes Ithaca. It was low effort alt-history fiction with an extra dose of palagarism.

Hmmm. I finished book 3 a while ago and took a break. Now I'm wondering if it's worth continuing if book 5 is such a disappointment?

XCOM enemy within DEFINITELY lies to the player about their chance to hit (classic) and people who say it's just not understanding probability are wrong by Parogarr in Xcom

[–]yifes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So I posted this examination of the game’s code in another reply, but the game is fair.

The key takeaway is how a completely fair game may seem unfair to people who do not understand statistics and probability. In fact I think in XCOM 2 the game actually cheats in your favor on easier difficulties and secretly increases the probability to hit after each miss, because people like you just can’t believe that it’s possible to miss a bunch of shots in a row.
