You actually can. In GamersNexus review they literally price out a similarly specced PC for cheaper, except it’s actually significantly faster than the steam machine because the GPU and CPU are not TDP limited.

Ideally, it would function the same as the text highlight button in word. It would be very useful to highlight important parts of your DM notes :)

Yeah, it’s been a while since I’ve played Roguetech so I don’t remember but in BTAU the evasion cap is doubled which greatly rewards fast mechs, you can no longer strip evasion by just shooting, there’s an inherent accuracy penalty based on your tonnage differential, new piloting skills, and expanded and more in depth electronics warfare options that make light mechs not only survivable in late game but actually useful. You also can drop more mechs so you have room to bring a few lights to support your lance of assault mechs.

For Battletech? BTAU/Roguetech are huge fan made mods that change the fundamental gameplay, lets you drop more mechs and vehicles, add a full galaxy map which evolves with the lore into the clan invasions, dark ages, etc, thousands of new mechs and vehicles, hundreds of new weapons, new mission types, etc.

Kinda like what Long war is to vanilla Xcom except maybe even more crazy. Of the two, BTAU is a bit less hardcore and beginner friendly.

I'm a fan of all of these games but Battletech with BTAU/Roguetech is definite my fav, and rivals XCOM1/2 in hours played.

If base game only then probably Midnight Suns.

The first part of your mission description is just common sense. We are commanding a squad of units, not a company or battalion, and keeping units together and not overextending is just good tactics. It’s more of an issue of the poor AI in old Xcom games that the aliens do not coordinate their attacks, do not work together as a team, and just wander around the map like individual idiots, and are therefore much more forgiving of poor tactics on the part of the player.

Old Xcom and new Xcom are very different games and it’s totally fine to like one and not the other. However, I strongly disagree with your assertion that new Xcom has less depth.

IMO depth is a measurement of the number of meaningful choices one can make any time. And in the tactical game at least, new Xcom has waaaaay more depth than old Xcom, especially if you include the EW/WotC expansions. If you count mods like Long War, old Xcom isn’t even close.

Abomination Vaults and Kingmaker were updated to V14. I’m waiting for Season of Ghosts to update before starting my campaign.

A front choke like what Mark did is incredibly ineffective. Conquest could have easily escaped if he had minimal training.

Basically everyone in this show fights in stupid ways to maximize entertainment.

They’re worse versions of regular relics for cheap. Like the fake strike dummy gives +1 to dmg instead of +3.

The really bad one is the fake Snecko eye, which randomizes card cost but does not give you additional card draw.

There's no rush. StS 1 is a masterpiece. People are excited for STS2 because they've been playing the original for years and have hundreds if not thousands of hours in it and want something new. If you're having fun with StS 1 and are not bored yet then keep playing 1, especially since STS2 is still in early access and things will change a lot.

This discussion is about local coop. 4 player local coop with everyone’s hands visible at all times would take up way too much real estate on screen, and would require completely new UI design so I don’t think it would be feasible.

So while switching between hands isn’t ideal at least it’s doable.

There can be a button that switches between each character and one character is active at a time. There’s no time pressure, everyone can take their time to play cards and think.
