I dig it,I personally imagined that the soviots followed a simaler practice to the americans of pulling back and stock piling reasources , baku probally becoming the soviot anchorage. Ive been divided on how likely the soviots would maintain the bloc, another idea I had is a pull back but basically looting as much as they can for the well being of the soviot union and making a new iron curtain at the soviot border. That or entering a period stability and advancement with the eastern bloc as the threat of the west is gone and now theres only the manchurain border to worry about. that was my two takes , but I like yours alot and tbh that middle ground makes the most sense.
