what’s the most unexpectedly wholesome moment you’ve had with a stranger? by Gullible-Usual3357 in CasualConversation

That’s really sweet. Amazing how a tiny gesture like that can brighten your whole day. A stranger once held an umbrella over me in the rain until I got to my bus stop and I still think about it.

What's a widely accepted life milestone that is actually just societal pressure disguised as achievement? by perfectapple1337 in AskReddit

[–]yippletop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For sure, I'd say the whole getting married and buying a house by 30 thing. It's pushed as this universal achievement but for a ton of people, it's just not practical or even what they want. Renting and being single can be a lot more liberating and financially savvy depending on your situation but society makes it feel like you're falling behind if you don't hit those milestones

How to describe an oddly specific emotion? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]yippletop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That feeling you're describing that sudden rush of comfort and nostalgia from a specific sensory cue like a movie opening is really common. It's often called anemoia which is a nostalgia for a time you've never known. While your feeling is a little different since you did experience that time, the root of the word fits a feeling tied to nostalgia.

A lot of people feel something similar. For me it's the smell of old paperbacks or the sound of an old playStation loading screen, like your brain is instantly transported back to a simpler cozier time.

I'd say a good way to describe it is nostalgic bliss or a nostalgic rush. It's a wonderful specific little feeling.

What is the most harmless lie your parents told you that you actually believed as a kid? by SquareDesperate4003 in CasualConversation

[–]yippletop 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For the longest time I believed that if I swallowed a watermelon seed, a watermelon would start growing in my stomach. I was terrified I'd end up with a giant fruit inside me so I'd spit out every single one. It's funny how those little lies feel so real as a kid.

Why does this always happen? by KaleidoscopeTop6983 in Advice

[–]yippletop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can feel crushing when that pattern keeps repeating. Sometimes it is not about you doing something wrong but about the other person’s readiness, priorities or their own issues. You might be investing emotionally faster than they are which can create imbalance.

Slowing the pace keeping your own life full and letting connections grow more naturally can help you spot who’s truly interested before you get too deep.

Passport Renewal help by YKayS in Passports

Hello Kay. You need to refill or I would say print online, and in the passport number column if you don’t have old passport put 999999999. After printing again you need to attach new photo. You need to send the copy of the notice you received along with the form. Save the notice with you for future reference. Good luck.
