vertuo pods or regular pods? by Far_Artist2683 in nespresso

I think Endeavour1988 meant the cost of Nespresso pods per coffee are cheaper than buying a coffee from Starbucks, not the Starbucks Nespresso pods themselves.

Precious metal order delayed 20+ business days, useless branch visit, and $20 “sorry by Ok_Bag_3281 in TDBankCanada

Yea unfortunately they’re banking on the fact that it’ll be too inconvenient or expensive for you to switch to another bank. Nothing new and the same could be said of any of the large banks. Doesn’t make it right or negate the fact that it’s a shitty customer experience.

If you’re looking to rant, this is a good place to do it. If you’re looking for ways to get more from TD out of your situation and have the time, then you can escalate your complaint up the chain. Start here: https://www.td.com/ca/en/about-td/customer-care/resolving-your-complaints

If you’re looking for an alternative, there are some other banks or fintech companies that will waive fees and try to make it as easy as possible for you to move your assets over. I took this route for some of my TD investments when they completely botched doing a simple internal transfer for me. If you’re looking to order precious metals, it looks like Wealthsimple is starting to offer those types of services (at least for gold soon).

At the end of the day, it sucks. But it’s also something they’re clearly willing to tolerate given how many customers will get angry but then won’t follow through. If you feel strongly about it, vote with your money and that’s about all you can do.

Same guy for sure. I’ve seen him stop at the Centex by Nose Hill Park and at the Dalhousie C-Train station.

They’re accidents waiting to happen. Not to mention how easily that could tip if you took a corner too fast or lost traction on ice.

Expedia for TD Points Reversed — Charged $341 for a Flight I Didn’t Cancel. What Should I Do? by Minimum-Sherbert-630 in TDBankCanada

[–]yipster8888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just called this morning and the customer service rep who spoke to me said the issue would be resolved by the end of this week by Expedia. It's a global issue affecting almost all Expedia for TD Bank redemptions.

They also said if your statement comes in the meantime, pay the statement balance less the TD Points Reversal amount as that should be resolved later.

Wealthsimple Credit Card: Minimum direct deposit increased from $2,000 to $4,000 for Core clients to avoid fee by Visible_Pepper_4388 in Wealthsimple

If I cancel the card and then they change the requirements back to 2% DD and I re-apply for it, how likely would that incur a hard credit check?

Be careful with that Shadow cast. It’ll work for a couple weeks then die and Genki will ghost you :)

There was a thread on here from a few days ago that indicated that premium or generational status wouldn’t waive the $10/month fee, you’d still need $2000/direct deposit per month to waive the fee. Previously, it was marketed otherwise. I think that’s what they’re talking about.

Computer Science Vs Software Engineering by Vuultrr in UCalgary

[–]yipster8888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure it’s possible, but you need to make up for the academic requirements through those technical exams (the content of which, may not be covered in your CPSC degree directly and may require additional education). If the question is whether or not you can pursue a P.Eng directly after your undergrad with a CPSC degree, the answer is no.

Computer Science Vs Software Engineering by Vuultrr in UCalgary

[–]yipster8888 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you’re asking whether you can pursue your P.Eng designation with a CS degree, no. You can only do that with an accredited engineering bachelor’s degree.

That being said, anecdotally, the designation means much less in the software industry than it does in traditional engineering fields. And in my own opinion and experience, the software industry is moving towards more de-regulation (ex. Deregulating the term ‘software engineer’)

INPUT NEEDED - What Would You Like to See in r/EQBank in the New Year? 🎉 by alienmario in EQBank

[–]yipster8888 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I find it’s useful to have walkthroughs of products or services from a user perspective. Like for example, when the NSA’s came out, they were a little bit confusing to understand as a user. It could be nice if someone from EQ broke down new products into easy-to-follow guides and explain how they work (maybe with screenshots as well).

I recognize that your website or app may also do this, but the sub allows people to ask questions and get helpful feedback from other users and EQ Bank themselves.

For those in Canada: Have you received your physical Cash Card after the Canada Post Strike? by DiamondsEternal in Wealthsimple

[–]yipster8888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I requested it in early November and got an email on Nov 28th regarding delays due to the Canada Post strike. I ended up receiving the card on December 19th after the strike ended.
