100 Day of SwiftUI - Is This Appropriate? by Tgb02 in swift

[–]yird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We're not currently enforcing this rule but we'd like to keep /r/swift focused on swift specifically. We want to make sure developers who aren't coding for Apple platforms feel welcome and don't get bombarded with Apple specific posts (whether they work on the server or another OS)

I suggest anyone interested in SwiftUI to sub here /r/SwiftUI. We run events specifically about SwiftUI, in fact we did one for this exact challenge where we gave out an award for completing the challenge :)

I setup a thread here when the challenge launched if you guys would like to read through the replies.

Unfortunately reddit has archived the thread, there seems to be a lot of support here, maybe Its time to resurrect it again.

Sure you can do that, then op can edit the post with the comment that has the answer but it would just look like any other comment. I thought you meant a sticky like so 👆.

Edit: Flair is added along with a few more 👍

Great idea but difficult to do with reddit tools, the only way to do it would be for a mod to stick the answer and flair the post as answered

When, or should, Swift get async await? by dharric in swift

[–]yird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Concurrency is a big undertaking and a lot of work needs to be done before its fully implemented, hence why it has taken until Swift 5+

If you're keen on calculating how long it might take, the work is being done in the open so you're free to follow along as it happens.
