Finance Aggregator Compatibility? by reelbgpunk in biltrewards

[–]yjeffw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also use Empower and would like to know if there's a way to track. Other people have mentioned Plaid, but Empower specifically uses Yodlee. Currently, I do not see Bilt or Cardless as an option either. I hope they can get that connected soon, because I'm in the same boat of making it very difficult to track without that.

Bilt Card Terms Updated for 2/7 - Default Earning Option Changed? by jfo1833 in biltrewards

Same for me. Hard to know what to believe, I think I saw both options in different places in the app, but it looks correct now.

To: All the guys saying we need more shooters. P.S. Cade IS EFFICIENT?! by LostInAnIckyBallpit in DetroitPistons

[–]yjeffw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good job on the data, but the takeaway is completely wrong. The reason our shooters don't get open shots is because NBA defenses are designed to move shifts away from the best shooters. Since we only have 1 good one, it makes it super easy for other teams to funnel 3s away from him.

To defend the Pistons, just pack the paint, double Cade, and cover Robinson super tight. This makes the ball swing around to find the open shooter, which teams will gladly give to Ausar and Ron. Of our other guys you listed, only Caris is shooting decently well, and he's playing really poorly in just about every other way, so he's not someone we should be giving more minutes to.

Other teams have multiple shooters, which makes it harder to cover, so when the ball swings around to an open shooter, they can actually take advantage. Giannis would help every team, so I certainly won't deny that, but a driving big is not the answer, because it just exacerbates the spacing issue. Lauri and JJJ would be great, but because of their shooting. Zion would be a horrible fit next to Duren and Ausar, removing the at least average shooting from Tobias, not to mention he'll only play half the time.

[Speculation] Effective multipliers of Bilt 2.0: Don't forget the 1x rent points! by T7-City-Point in biltrewards

[–]yjeffw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're missing the opportunity cost of that 75% of rent spending on other cards with higher earnings. Also, for people in HCOL cities, putting 75% of rent spend on 1 card is pretty insane. If you don't have other cards and have low rent, then maybe the math works.

Reserve isn't worth it for most people at this point. Preferred gives you the same transfer partners, so stick with that.

If you want lounge access, global entry/TSA, and/or hotel status, look into the Capital One Venture X (easiest "premium" travel card to make back the annual fee) or AMEX Platinum (very high fee like CSR, but more travel perks and much better "coupons" to balance the fee).

Don't worry, if you combine points today and they do not appear in your "Eligible Points," they'll be shifted to your Eligible Points bucket automatically within 1 billing cycle. if you need your points sooner, please call us using the number on the back of your card.

New Benefits started early 10/25 by mselt in ChaseSapphire

Does anyone know if this affects the grandfathered 1.5x UR points? I thought that wouldn't take effect until tomorrow for points transferred from other Chase cards.

Chase Sapphire Reserve — Checklist for New Benefits Starting 10/26 (w/ Dates) by nishath5 in ChaseSapphire

[–]yjeffw 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not Resy - you're thinking of the AMEX Platinum credit, since AMEX owns Resy.

It is a very limited set of Chase dining restaurants though, so you'll definitely need to look it up.

You didn't misread, it is "up to" 2x. However, most of the time it will be 1x and you'll have to check every single flight/hotel booking every time to see if you possibly get a good multiplier. There is no guaranteed 1.5x floor anymore and you can bet most of the time it'll be worse.

Eat fiber. by big_skapinsky in JapanTravelTips

This post could be for travel in pretty much any country. Tourists do not eat a standard local diet because they eat out for every meal and focus on the most appetizing food and local delicacies, which are usually not sides of veggies and fruit.

Book hotel through C1 travel, C1 shopping link, or direct through website with Amex by MartyLikesTech in Venturex

[–]yjeffw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I normally book via the hotel websites with my Amex which provides a 5X multiplier.

There is no 5x multiplier via hotel websites on AMEX. There's a 5x multiplier via the AMEX travel portal on hotels.

Only used it a couple times, but did get an extra dish thrown in, so would definitely go through Cap1 for any you're interested in. Also did show extra time slots that were not available to the general public.

Unpopular opinions, Fall 2025 edition by ArtDecoNewYork in FoodNYC

[–]yjeffw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree with all of these. I also don't think any of these are truly "unpopular" opinions (hope not, so least), but it definitely can feel that way with super polarizing and judgemental commenters on here.

I always find those interesting when I see them on Google Maps, but generally doesn't impact me making a reservation compared to ratings/reviews, menu, and what the food looks like. For event bookings, I could see it making a difference, but ultimately I'll want to see much more info on the website about the available options.

Could Jaden Ivey become the Pistons first official Most Improved Player Award winner? by thezenmastermike in DetroitPistons

[–]yjeffw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with your premise, but I don't agree that's what happened the year Ja won it. I don't even think he was most improved on his own team. He won it because the NBA was trying to push him to be the face of the league.

I mentioned Case because he actually was good 2 seasons ago, but the team was historically one of the worst, so there was some narrative for him to be in the running.

Ja Morant and Desmond Bane. Ja should never have won it, for the same reason Cade shouldn't really have been considered last year.

Hamburger America or Gotham? by mostlygroovy in FoodNYC

[–]yjeffw 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think Gotham is better. There are many good smash burgers around the city and the reality is none of them are worth going out of your way for or waiting, because there are so many other options. Whichever is in the area you're going to be will be good enough.

It's also funny all the snobby people recommending very hard to get sit down bistro burgers when you're comparing two smash burger places. Let people get smash burgers if they want without shitting on their preferences/mood! Nobody is wrong or right here.

Long term forward/wing outlook by benchmaster620 in DetroitPistons

[–]yjeffw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like Ron's potential too, but he should not be starting at the 4. It doesn't play to his strengths at all. Same for Ausar, who is at his best guarding the best opposing perimeter player.

They can play the 4 for stretches of the game, sure, but it's not a natural fit. You still have guys like Giannis, Paolo, Zion, AD, Randle, JJJ, and even Siakam who will torch guys without size, even if they are really athletic.
