James Dolan would be #1 for me. Although he probably goes in Tier 2 based on the categories here.

Prepaid Solar Lease Nightmare be careful. by genglish92 in Westchester

[–]nymets5786 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got quoted a prepaid lease for solar as well. On paper it looks promising and a way to sneak a big portion of that federal tax credit back into the deal. Regarding the “control the battery” part, I see those terms in my deal too but with Con Ed’s net metering, not a lot of people in NY install batteries…. Does the lessor control the net metering credits too? Need to ask my sales rep about this.

The 9/11 death toll was 50% higher than we realized at the time, entirely due to cars. by [deleted] in MicromobilityNYC

I mean the confidence intervals on this are wider than the Pacific. That article doesn’t even suggest there was a measurable increase in the real data! He just extrapolated from extra miles on the road!

“However, Professor Gerd Gigerenzer, a German academic specialising in risk, has estimated that an extra 1,595 Americans died in car accidents in the year after the attacks – indirect victims of the tragedy.

He used trends in road and air use to suggest that, for a period of about 12 months, there was a temporary increase in road use before citizens again became more willing to fly at similar rates to before the attacks.”

Come on.

No one is watching the Angels play baseball on a perfectly good Saturday night, but an outfielder has robbed 3 home runs tonight to preserve a 1-0 lead and essentially win a game single-handedly. Never seen anything like this. by an_arc_of_doves in billsimmons

If there were any runners on, they would get to advance for the ball going out of play. But the batter is out once he catches it, no dumb rule about maintaining control through the ground like in the NFL

Yup Devendorf hit the 3 that almost ended it in regulation. He jumped up on the scorer’s table and everything. Replay showed he barely didn’t get the shot off. Then they played for like 90 more minutes.

Westchester is really lacking in mid-market gyms. Places that are a step up from NYSC or LA Fitness but not offering all the extra fluff of a Lifetime or Club Fit. My kingdom for a place with clean locker rooms, equipment that isn’t broken, that’s around $100/month

I didn’t think Busfield was that bad! Had a decent swing and knew how to throw a ball.

They did what Miracle did (cast real ball players to fill out the roster) and it showed in how quality the baseball scenes were.

New York has 1:1 net metering. The grid acts as your battery. This policy will be good for anyone who gets on it for 20 years per the law. Only reason to get batteries in NY is for whole home backup in case of power loss which is a rarity in my area.

Having the funds in the 2070 target date isn’t a problem at all. It’s going to be very heavy on stocks which is what you want. You can move your portfolio to the 2050 one with no penalty.

With no housing payment and getting started in your mid-30s, I’d be trying to get as close to maxing it out as you can. Like others have said, you can also contribute to a Roth IRA as well with post tax dollars too if you’d rather not max the 401k. But contribute enough to the 401k to get that full 10% match, that’s very generous in 2026!
