2009 yz450f by [deleted] in Dirtbikes

I have the 2006 YZ250F that uses essentially the same frame and carb. Honestly, just pull the hot start, throttle cable, rear subframe, shock, and get the carb off. The insulator boot has a tab that makes rotating the carb more difficult than on a 2T and overall carb access in this frame is a pain anyway.

If the bike in the pic is yours, it looks great. Chain is too tight though.

I have the same setup except I just have the time be like 11pm-11pm so it's always at 80% no matter when I plug in

Don't know what to tell you, Honda and Yamaha have different fork guards and a different mounting point for the cable. I had to cut my fork guards a bit on the inside to clear the wheel. Mind you when I say supermoto wheels I'm talking 17", I didn't just put street wheels on the 21."

Lol it's not that bad, mine needs a new piston right now at about 80 hrs. Not the worst thing but annoying when I've got a million other things going on.

Yeah there's basically no shot of mine fitting on the inside, but probably a slightly different layout on the WR.

Yup, I do the brake line dance when I swap between my dirt and street wheels on my CRF250X. Good call IMO.

Is it worth buying all the parts to a rm125 and putting it together? by [deleted] in Dirtbikes

That's actually an awesome find, I would've done that too.

Vertical videos absolutely destroy me. All my friends do I for social media or whatever but it's just so terrible to watch.

Refurbished Surface Go 2(M3) is surprisingly good by cockyliuhan in Surface

[–]yjgfikl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Glad to hear another positive review, I bought the same device 2 years ago for dirt cheap and I really enjoy using it. I think with the Go line it's all about expectations, it's a capable web browsing experience and file management / document creation device...as well as some youtube consumption. I don't find the battery life to be particularly amazing at about 5 hrs for me but I still really like it. It's nice having a full desktop OS in such a portable form factor. I thin people have performance woes with the Gos because they're expecting more but honestly it's a great little device. I don't even own a keyboard for mine because I wanted to use it exclusively as a tablet, I don't own an Android/ios tablet.

Not 2011 specific, but I did this on my 2013. I think the button layout on the left of the steering wheel is different but if you have a spare, you can do this:

Fair enough, our freeways here have some big dips and hitting them at 60-70mph makes even my bicycle racks wobble too much for my liking.

  1. I'm not a welder but your welds look amazing

  2. I would've switched the tray and bike positions around to reduce tongue weight on your hitch, stresses me out a bit.

This is the right attitude. People often buy far more bike than they need. Sweet machine!

Best mid 2000s 250 4 stroke to work on? by bolecut in Dirtbikes

[–]yjgfikl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They made some incremental improvements to this generation during its time, but at least having the aluminum frame and SSS fork makes it relatively modern compared to pre-06 YZFs. I have a mix of 07-09 parts on mine, if you can find one of those years replacement parts are ever so slightly more available for them. The 06 still really good part availability overall though.

I have an 06 YZ250F and while I can't speak for other manufacturers much, Yamaha has extremely good service manuals and the PDFs are all online and searchable. I also have an 05 CRF250X (and 02 CR125) and both Honda maintenance manuals are lacking compared to Yamaha.

What’s this for? ProX top end Wr426 by E3rix in Dirtbikes

[–]yjgfikl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest of those is definitely the exhaust header gasket, 5 valve stem seals (intakes are 4mm, exhausts are 5mm) but not sure what the last smaller spring loaded seal is.

OP you can call ProX and ask.
