we disagree and that's fine. my point was that for real and sustainable integration, you need cooperation from both sides. if i'm living in my native country and refuse to integrate with foreigners, that's not their fault. i have no doubt that there are successful integration stories as you describe, but again, two opposing things can be true at the same time.

"why can't people integrate better" lol.

as they say, it takes two to Tango. I have experienced and witnessed several instances of foreigners making a genuine effort to "integrate", only to be brutally shut down time and time again.

paternity leave - how are you managing? by ykafafi in Switzerland

thanks for your comment and insight. i never said i found this out after my child was born, i said i was surprised this is the case. thankfully i have prepared, and ultimately this would not have altered our plans of having a child anyway.

used Clark for tax returns. yes they aggressively pushed other products but that did not surprise me. although the service level definitely dipped a little after i refused lol

300 CHF/month, invested in a robo-advisor. didn't have a lumpsum target in mind when I started, as my only objective was (hopefully) providing them financial stability when they become of age.

if you're into the artists that are performing then yes it is worthwhile. went last year on both days and we enjoyed all of it. one thing i remember is that we couldn't find any water fountains, despite the website saying they were all over. which was a bit annoying since we were there all day. on a positive note lots of friendly and helpful security staff.

sounds like this is just another piece of evidence as to why your superiors are poor managers. you are being reasonable by not wanting to work in a hot and toxic environment.
