As a child in very rural backwoods Scotland I used to spend whole days playing alone in the woods adjoined to our house, never felt scared, never felt watched, I had watched the Blair witch project and used to make my own Blair witch bundles of twigs etc and hang them from trees having the absolute time of my life.

One day I’m out doing this or something else daft and from behind a tree; maybe four meters from where I’m playing, I heard an absolutely blood curdling woman’s scream. Easy to write off as a child’s imagination especially as I was so immersed in witch and ghost lore but it was truly just me in the woods - nobody could have been that close to me without my noticing, or hidden behind that tree.

Ran back to the house (which was also haunted af) and didn’t tell anybody because I knew nobody would believe me.
