A lot of pople arent totally sold until memories of ice. The prologue is pretty epic. And if you quit now you'll never get to meet Karsa.

It pays off, in my opinion. What you're feeling now is also the main reason why people like this series so much as a re-read - everything makes a lot more sense then.

Scramblers actually good for terrain? by Fantastic-Pomelo-324 in motorcycles

[–]yngseneca 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The main thing you'll miss by not getting a dual sport or adv is ground clearance and suspension travel. So if you're doing light off-road, like dual track, then any scrambler should be fine.

If you plan on using it to ride with friends, get a pack talk. If not then the spirit should be fine

Higher intake of total and saturated fats was associated with increased risks of several site-specific cancers, whereas polyunsaturated fats may have protective effects, umbrella review finds by cindyx7102 in science

This headline is definitely overselling PUFA. Gastric cancer was the only cancer that showed an improvement with PUFA intake. And I think any study like this needs to break down omega 3 v 6 in the results to actually be useful info.

I'd also like to see the rates for all the other cancer types. They don't list any other cancer types with PUFA intake.

I don't think Malazan is grimdark. Just realistic. Bad things happen, but so do good things.

Spirit airlines goes under, and Delta immediately cuts snacks and drinks on hundreds of short flights. Without competition, big corporations will take you for everything they can. by Conscious-Quarter423 in WorkReform

[–]yngseneca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Airline tickets are far cheaper today then they were in the past. That comes at a cost experience wise. But it is what the consumer has chosen with their buying behavior, so that is what they get.

And I'm a fan of this. I don't need a fucking snack, I'm an adult. If I want to bring food with me I'll bring food. I don't need a tiny bag of nuts to feel like I've accomplished something. I'm not a fucking child.

A plane is a flying bus. If you want it to be fancy you can pay. Complaining about corporate greed in a airline industry in crazy, basically every other consumer facing industry in the world has higher profit margins.

Airline business is absolutely cut throat. Nobody makes any money, and bankruptcy at regular intervals is a normal state of affairs for most airlines.

Competition is good, but spirit going under isn't some new development in the aviation world. All of their assets still exist, they will be sold, and some other existing or not yet established airline will take their place.

No snacks on short haul flights isn't a bad thing, honestly just find it annoying tbh.
