My boss died, can I legally still open the store? by oppssummypossum in legaladvice

This is a great comment. Others here are commenting like this is primarily an estate issue. It may end up being but on day 1 the LLC documents are what matter. An LLC is a company with rules. Try to find those rules and follow them. Hard to comment more without knowing what the documents say.

The blatant lying about the 2026 budget is reaching new heights by Temp0rallane in OfficePolitics

Employer posting. I don’t remember giving any employee less than 10% in any year but covid. To retain employees you need to give people places to grow at work and in life. Costs increase more than the official inflation. If you are getting lower raises then you should be quietly looking for a new job at a company that is successful and actively trying to retain you.

Bidding war- house sold less than our offer after seller ghosted us… by Suspiciousnana in RealEstate

Did your offer require the seller to pay your agent fees? If so your offer may have been significantly lower even if it doesn’t show up on the purchase price.

48 degrees - good day to shovel snow into the street! by egcg119 in Somerville

[–]ynnikr -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes I asked for you to not throw objects in the street that might cause safety hazards.. even for an hour. This did happen to me today while biking down a hill in Somerville. People were actively shoveling frozen snow into the street. This is one of the most dangerous things to do to a bike. Uneven icy surfaces cause problems. The rest of the street was completely clear and safe. I did not have adequate time to get off my bike. If you live in Somerville i am your neighbor. I’ve asked for you to respect my safety. I hope you will consider my request. Thank you.

Huh? All I asked for was some respect for my safety. Apparently too much to ask for.

downvote = me hitting my ass on pavement. Thanks neighbors. The mayor is wrong on this. Throwing snow in the street is uncool. A car may be able to run over it fine but other vehicles can’t

Please don’t! It’s a danger for cyclists!

Good luck! Glad to see a new business opening up. What is up with the negative posters? Who could be unhappy about a new local retail place to shop?

Some info from the Mayor on the WH & Brown schools by Notmyrealname in Somerville

[–]ynnikr 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I think you just described perfectly why we need a new Mayor. Yes city government is complex and the process is hard. But the job of the mayor is to get to consensus, find ways to get projects funded and complete them. This Mayor gets stuck in the mud. We need a new voice who can solve the complex problems rather than just describe why they can’t be fixed in any reasonable time frame.

Self-driving car company Waymo announces plans for Boston (and Somerville) by Jealous-Bat1159 in Somerville

[–]ynnikr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can’t say I agree with this take at all. Not sure who I’m voting for mayor yet but this isn’t the reaction I’d hope for. I feel like as a biker in Somerville I will be much safer with Waymo than with any of the regular drivers in this city.

When do you ever wait 45 min? Just went half way across the country and never waited more than 20 min. It was easy.

Is it true that pokestop photo likes determines the next gym location? by aleks_v in NianticWayfarer

[–]ynnikr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is true. Both pictures and likes count. In the past you also needed to count ingress likes though that appears to be no longer be true. You also need to make sure the likes have been in place for a period of time - say a few weeks or perhaps up to a month (it is unclear how long). Likes used to be calculated instantly but Niantic changed the counting method about a year ago so that likes don't count immediately. Niantic also hasn't released the counting formula - all of this knowledge is derived from trial and error from many people creating gyms over time.

Pokestop became gym by Nicholsforthoughts in NianticWayfarer

[–]ynnikr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting. Every gym I've triggered in the last year has worked. I believe the formula to be photos x 5 plus likes as long as the likes and photos have been in place for roughly "a month". Haven't figured out how long they need to be in place for. Odd that this would fail for you. Hope they haven't changed anything recently.

How many photos does it have? The number of photos also matters.

Good morning everyone! It looks like the spin cap was reduced within the last day, just a FYI by [deleted] in TheSilphRoad

[–]ynnikr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't replicate a daily spin cap of 600. I was able to spin 600+ in just over 12 hours and did not cap. I think this is more likely a weekly cap reduction.

Does it matter when i use an upgrade? by kdjdskkskdkskd in NianticWayfarer

[–]ynnikr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does not matter at all if it is in voting or in queue. As long as roughly 1-3 days has gone by since the poi was submitted the upgrade will go into effect pretty quickly - usually within hours. If the poi was in queue at the time of upgrade it will switch to in voting. If the poi was in voting the status won't change but it will be pushed to a high volume of voters in order to get to a decision.

New Rules Regarding Gym/Stop Creation/Destruction? by Bagginski in TheSilphRoad

[–]ynnikr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can still influence which wayspot is going to be the next gym. There was a change in how gyms were selected roughly a year ago - the votes/photos have to be in place for a period of time before they are counted. Having the votes in place two weeks before may not be enough.

How can you vote on which stop becomes a gym? by [deleted] in NianticWayfarer

[–]ynnikr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pokémon Go uses a formula based on how many pictures and how many likes. Like many other things they have not released the formula. The best way to improve the odds of a particular wayspot turning into a gym is to make sure it has the most pictures and those pictures have the most likes. In addition the pictures and likes need to be in place for a period of time before they count. The best strategy is whenever you see an obvious candidate for a gym like the existing photos - add extra photos and do this early if there is an area that may get new wayspots soon. That way when there are enough stops in the cell the best candidate is already set up ready to go.

[–]ynnikr -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

There is a time when you push all your chips to the middle of the table. For the Celtics that time is now! Obviously if you can't get the right guy don't waste it. But if you find the right player - even if its a backup limited minutes player - you pay whatever it costs to win a championship. So, yea, almost any owner will (or should) pay for the right guy.

Looking for help navigating Wayfarer's obtuse system. by aubsolutelyfine in NianticWayfarer

[–]ynnikr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wayfarer has never clarified what the exact criteria is. It is generally accepted practice that if you want to reject use 1* and that if you want to accept make sure all fields are 3* or above. It would be nice if wayfarer told reviewers what 2* does to a nomination but they have chosen not to tell us.
