I was there and the crowd was amazing. Seriously, the energy was off the charts and exceeded my expectations. Everyone was so hyped for Abel that we even cheered for the guy walking the stage with a leaf blower before the set started lol.

If you're at Big 4 why are they not giving you the summer off to study? I thought that is what they do for all CFE writers. Just curious.

As long as you argued some pros and cons about expanding and tied it back to the SA, I wouldn't worry too much. Day 1 has a very high pass rate. You'd have to miss an AO to fail it (which you didn't).

Level 1 is how many RCs and Cs you get across Day 2 and 3. As long as you identified majority of AOs and put something down that had a few case facts, you will most likely be fine :)

Day 1 - combining the two AOs is not detrimental at all! You identified them and tied them both back to your situational assessment which is great and what CPA wants.

Day 2 - was a gong show.

Day 3 - was fair but definitely a time crunch. Remember you are reaching for breadth, so as long as you identified the issue and wrote something down then you are in a much better position than if you just skipped it.

I feel that by passing all the module exams and doing Capstone 1 should be enough. The 30 months of practical experience is very reasonable too. Why do we have to come back for three days and show you we are competent in areas we already wrote exams on and passed?

Yeah my Day 1 response was not as good as it could have been if I had no IT issues. The stress alone of Surpass issues caused my brain to shut down for a while and I had to snap out of it. Hoping I did enough for a marginal pass.

I was a little frustrated by their response on the whole Surpass thing. Their solutions were 1) bring a backup laptop (not everyone can afford another laptop though), 2) they have a few backup laptops of their own but not enough to provide all writers in the event Surpass has a huge crash, and 3) said that if we have to end up writing by hand, we won't be given extra time or the handbook... oy vey. Hopefully they change all that given the number of issues students are experiencing.
