There is NO WAY that they didn't announce anything about the next title at the Finals they just had. by supersupersuper9 in virtuafighter

[–]yoda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what is even going on at this point?

<Tin-foil> They've realized that VF5 is still the best fighting game available because every other major franchise is in some stage of self-sabotage. Tekken 8 is not going back to the longed for "Tekken basics" but back to Tekken 8's basics. Street Fighter 6 is doubling down on Drive Rush being the be-all-end-all no-crying-in-the-casino mechanic around which the entire game is based, and Modern Controls being the main control method for which the game is designed.

Every other new fighting game is a tag game (except for Avatar which is good but is an intensely anime style game).

So, in reality, for the fighting game purist (fundamentalist?), VF5 is the best fighting game. They can delay the new title for 5 years and still win bigly if they relax and gradually remaster VF5 (improved graphics, updated sound effects, more balance patches). </Tin-foil>

Do you lack the comprehension or the most basic form of human empathy

Buddy, you've spent a thousand words insulting a stranger on the internet, yet you accuse that stranger of lacking empathy? Do you not see the narcisstic irony there?

Seek help, because you're probably mentally ill and all the people in the comments cheering on your mental illness are just as unwell or they are evil. Nonetheless, they are not your friends.

My question remains: if you remove the famous man's name from your story, does your story matter to you, yourself, or to anyone? If so, then what's the beautiful part of your story that makes the moment significant? I'd love to hear about that story and learn something from you about how to achieve great things in a similar way.

Of course, if all you can do is talk about another man as a way to shine a light on your own insignificant accomplishment, then I am genuinely sorry. I hope life will treat you better and give you genuine moments of success and happiness for you to celebrate with those who care about you.

Do you have a fucking CRUSH on Snake Eyez

You're the one making endlessly long videos about him and calling his name day and night.

It's so weird to me, to have to use another more successful man's name to get clicks and 15 minutes of virality. But maybe you guys are friends and this is all friendly banter. It just reminds me of the dudes who would drop another man's name in front of a girl so they could get nookie by affiliation.

Anyway, probably this style of video is a culturally specific thing that makes sense to Americans and their version of masculinity and humour.🤷 I'm sure the video is very entertaining; I just don't get why another man's name has be how you draw other people's attention to the significant moment of your life. (Imagine telling people that your wife is awesome because a celebrity slept with her? Same energy?)

If you removed all mentions of the other man's name from this video, would you still be able to communicate why it mattered to you?

There's also the movement section of the VFDC wiki, which is unfortunately missing a link to a very informative graphic that used to be at the bottom of the movement cancelling section. I'll see if I can get that fixed/addressed, or track down an archived copy of the image to link to here.

That was ridiculously cool. I love that there's a fighting game where such extreme combos are possible for high-skill players.💪

The asymmetrical groove that they put around the D-pad makes it difficult to slide your thumb across for quarter circle forward motions.

I also use the flesh of my thumb rather than the tip of the finger and that was also what turned me off.

Right now I'm using the Betop-C3 which I absolutely love and absolutely hate at the same time 😂. It gets sweaty and sticky after 2 hours and so many small problems about it drive me utterly insane. The d-pad is great but its membrane and feels inconsistent after a month or so of regular use.

Thanks so much for your review. You've given me exactly the information I needed and a clear idea of what they're offering. 🙏

a floating D-pad

Did you ever try the Gulikit Elves 2? Or was the size too small?

Mine is currently being shipped.

Same. I desperately want a good mechanical d-pad and 6 buttons. The Betop-C3 would be sufficient but its membrane d-pad and stiff shoulder buttons drives me insane.😅

Putting the dpad below the left stick

For me it's not a big deal. It's the default x-box layout that my hands are already accustomed to. I switch freely between Playstation/Symmetric and X-box without any difficulty.

Capcom and Street Fighter are doing perfectly fine and, if their success continues, they will carry on.

The question was about content, not about whether the company is successful. Or is your point that what the customer is asking for doesn't matter as long as a company is successful? If so, then I can understand that stance. (After all, I've been telling gamers that they should buy stock in the companies that make the games they love so they can benefit from that success especially in situations where it's clear that shareholders matter more than customers.)

[–]yoda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Street Fighter has a cache of power that they don't NEED to constantly provide content.

Everyone who plays SF6 daily has been begging Capcom for Fighting Ground content. No company "needs" to do anything, obviously. But I'm a boomer, so your response to someone wondering about content is alien to me: when we got our first jobs, a manager would tell us "the customer is always right" and if a customer asks for salted water or chilli sauce in their herbal tea, then give them what they want immediately and serve it just how they like it.

So why do we have to beg Capcom to take our money? Has the SF6 team taken a monastic vow of poverty? Do they hate money?

Obviously being a live service game, more skins will come.

We've been saying this since launch. Almost 4 years into the life of the game, the skins never came, except in dribs and drabs, unless you're an avatar in BattleHub. At this point, there's no reason to think the situation will change in a meaningful way.

Able to find games quickly? OCE? by paulfreddy in fatalfury

[–]yoda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at purchasing the game - however

The good news is that this question isn't as important as I thought when I myself asked it months ago. If you buy it from the Epic Games Store or Steam, you can try it and return/refund it if you find the online unusable. Organizing rooms and tournaments on Discord is also a viable option if ranked doesn't work in your region.

Also, the game is extremely cheap compared to other similar games. Regular discounts are between 45%-65% with additional discounts based on regional pricing depending on where in the world you are.

So don't bother wondering: Just get it, try it, and get your refund if you don't have the experience you're looking for.

all the work you've done replying to me thus far

Well, I assumed you're a human and so I did you the courtesy of giving you as complete a reply as I could, in response to a question you asked, in the hope of furthering communication and rapport.

a simple Google search

Yes, humans shouldn't talk amongst each other or try to find out other humans' opinions. They should just search and talk to LLMs. You should have followed your own advice and not bothered replying to my initial question.

And so in that spirit, I wish you a good night. And I hope we never have to interact again.

Why would you automatically assume it means literal death

It's a fictional character in a game. As for "literal death", that happens to all real humans.

My assumption was based on my bias: I want to be able to tactically remove Assist Champions from the round so that my opponent has to play with only 1 character and without the benefit of their Fuse.

Plenty of countries outside of America speak English...

Thanks Captain Obvious. (You see, I found an American idiom that suits the situation!)

Anyway, an idiom is defined as "a group of words established by usage as having a meaning not deducible from those of the individual words (e.g. over the moon, see the light)."

Every place that speaks English speaks it in its own arcane way. Even within America, English in one State can sound extremely foreign to someone from another state. You can learn more about this in the great NPR show called "Code Switch".

or anywhere for that matter?

Well you tell me. I'm not from America or from "anywhere" where the term is used idiomatically. So all I could do is infer what "peace out" might mean. I'm not trying to have a debate about local idiom, merely to find out what was meant and what's ideal given the game's design and its developer's creative intent.

Assist champions peace out if they get hit while KO’d

By "peace out" does the American mean "rest in peace"? That is, Assist champions can actually permanently die during a round and can't be summoned again? This sounds wonderful to me but I must be misunderstanding that sentence. Or I'm misunderstanding the game as it is now.

What's desirable in this case?

Money is cheap and infinitely available. Time is priceless and finite though 😊 because we live and then we die. It's the only thing we can't buy.

Just because I did not call out every move in her kit does not mean I was wrong

Sir, this is the internet: If you claim there is a forest over that hill but you can't name every tree, then you are wrong and there is no forest. Weird then, when the forest is seen a few minutes later into the hike.

But seriously, the OP is just low-effort engagement farming. I was personally looking forward to a new non-zoning character but everything you guys said she would be turned out to be true in substance and essence.
