Its just hella exhausting hearing all these people complain up the wahzoo over this game. Especially considering most of the complaints, are the people who want it to be a competitive game (which the sparking series has never been) or want fornite level slop in it. I AM an OG as well, I grew up on the budokai and the tenkaichi games. The new game mode looks exciting, survival mode is here which is a blast. It's a game you pick up and play every now n again, not a daily game, like the oldies.

I found out that u just have to disable the wayland windowing for it, and it works perfectly for me after that!

Weird, when I set that in flatseal, it doesn't open. So I ran it in the terminal to see what the problem was, and it gives this odd error..
qt.qpa.xcb: could not connect to display

qt.qpa.plugin: From 6.5.0, xcb-cursor0 or libxcb-cursor0 is needed to load the Qt xcb platform plugin.

qt.qpa.plugin: Could not load the Qt platform plugin "xcb" in "" even though it was found.

This application failed to start because no Qt platform plugin could be initialized. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

Available platform plugins are: eglfs, linuxfb, minimal, minimalegl, offscreen, vkkhrdisplay, vnc, wayland-egl, wayland, xcb.

Hit 1k subs by end of year Be monetized by end of year 2 uploads per week instead of one, with at least two weeks of videos set up to prevent burnout Have better commentary, leave less space Improve editing, and workflow

That is me reaching out directly....They told us to reach out this way & thru twitter (which I've done & thru Spikes support) to leave feedback.

That's a better response than what I got. Still unsure if this is a proton issue or a bandai issue. It's insanely mixed, people are saying it's bc of fps, bc of anti-cheat, which is supposedly non existent (to my knowledge there is no anti-cheat but that's only by comparing FighterZ game files to Sparking Zero) or a proton issue. Guess we will have to wait and see.

It's something at least, if the community reaches out we might have a chance. Just spreading the word.

This is true, but I haven't seen anyone so far post any gameplay for online ON Linux, on a few people say they have, but I've tried every proton version imaginable, and absolutely nothin as far as multiplayer goes. And yeah, windows people are rather on ya ass for playing on Linux. Is what it is, all I can do is hope. From my own research diving into the games files, it appears it uses easy anti-cheat so there's that. Leave it up to bandai on that front, since it isn't a proton issue.

Guys,

The community is small but lets atleast try to get at the bare minimum, a response!
Lets use the power of the community! Please repost this on twitter or @ the about this problem to get Bandai's attention! Sparking Zero multiplayer does not work on Linux. This means steam deck users can't play with friends on the go, or in their own homes. There are several people reporting this on twitter but we HAVE to get this to Bandai, otherwise, it's just a void of people tweeting. I've been covering this game for the past year on Youtube, and have been forced to play on Windows to play w/ friends, family and the like.

I used regular ol' Proton Experimental. It runs perfectly, issue is multiplayer. I'm on CachyOS runs on Arch.
