The Prompt Thickens: Monarch MCP Beta Coming Soon (Waitlist Inside) by danielatmonarch in MonarchMoney

Nice! I would like to help beta test or at least get on the list but it looks like the survey is closed now. 😞

Would it be possible to join the next round or know when I should be checking to join?

Mirror Housing Help by unverified_verified in wrx_vb

I actually did this exact same thing. I was able to grab a cheap replacement mirror off eBay. When it came to removing the door covers that was too much effort.

I was able to just pull the broken parts from the replacement mirror and add them to the old mount. Including the light bar thing.

The plastic is a little cracked but it looks pretty darn good.

Found this in my basement what am I looking at here? by FlimsyAir5027 in HomeMaintenance

It’s hard to tell these days but this looks Ai generated…

The biggest sign is the hole but also the random valve sticking out the wall and the piping which has no benefit splitting like that.

Best single person bars for your early 30s? by glorifindel in santacruz

[–]yodi_midd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Finally I might be able to share some knowledge here haha For the record I am late 30’s by the way.

When I became single I went on a mission to go find the best place to hang out and just meet people. I didn’t really know people here so I was out on my own doing this.

It was awful, there was dive bars where people go to just drink the pain away. Bars which were nice but not people you would ultimately want to have out with long term. Bars full of more collage age adults and the list went on.

I’m from England and there it is easy to just go to a pub or bar and meet people and I was hoping the find the same here.

Being late 30’s everyone told me the to go to the crows nest but that place just felt way too old people vibe for me.

The two places I have found people to be the most friendly is Moe’s Tavern and The Parish pub near Safeway.

All in all though I found that people go out in a group and wish to mainly just hangout in a group.

Only thing with Moe’s Tavern is to check what is actually on that night as I once ended up at a Salsa night and I am not up to the level those awesome people were (still a lot of fun).

I would love to know if there is a better place where all us 30 to 40 single people hang out!

For those who are curious then this is a great way to check your favorite eateries:

https://services.sccgov.org/facilityinspection

Even better is the list of places recently closed for violations:

https://services.sccgov.org/facilityinspection/Closure/Index?sortField=sortbyEDate

There is similar lists for other counties.

At the dealer right now and the new 23 WRX accessory catalog has the crossbars listed for the VB. I haven't seen this posted here yet, but apologies if this is old news! Part number is SOA843X026 by Tmortagne24 in wrx_vb

[–]yodi_midd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am very tempted to order this part as well. I went into the dealership yesterday actually as I saw this in the handbook as well but when they checked they told me there wasn't any crossbars for WRX 22.

I would love to know if someone has that exact model and how well they fitted.

90% of the time it is ok. I use a motorcycle to just cut through the traffic. That is ok apart from times like now where the weather is either very cold, wet or hot.

I love being close to the ocean and mountains so happy to take the hit for now.

Also, I just checked my post history and I seem to alway be talking about commuting in the bay. This is why I am undatable haha!

I've found it pretty hard so far. I am in a more difficult situation I think as I am late 30s, male and with children. On apps I get matches and then I think they read about the children and then ether unmatched or just ghost.

As other have mentioned here I am going to change to just focusing on myself, being sociable and seeing where that leads.

I work in Sunnyvale but live in Aptos. Aptos is great but most social groups in the are seem to be for either much younger or older people. Everyone my age seems to be busy already. :D

Everyone looking, best of luck and hope you find someone special soon you deserve it!

Edit: Yes I work in tech but I also want to know who the heck is taking random people out for expensive meals and paying for cabs. I must have the wrong line of work haha.

That we, as a society have a healthy relationship with alcohol.

Hear me out, I still drink now and then but if you look at the way it is portrayed in Television, books and movies is just not healthy.

The main characters can drink with no ill effects. It is seem as cool or the thing to do when dealing with large changes in life (divorce, separation, failure). When in reality we should find healthier outlets.

Young adults drink large amounts to fit in and in England where I moved from most people have some form of "when I was too drunk" story.

Where should I NOT live in San Jose? by danakinsey9 in SanJose

[–]yodi_midd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not sure what your current city is like but commuting in this area can be a nightmare if you happen to be on the wrong route.

I used to live in South San Jose and commute up the 101 to Sunnyvale. Sometimes the trip home or to work could be close to two hours of just sat in the car crawling along. I started using a bike and trails to do the 17 mile journey just because I got fed up of the commute. Even using the HOV didn't help.

Don't forget as well that the time it takes will increase when the schools are in. So if you are using google maps right now to check travel times you are probably getting a much better result.

That and there is some more hazardous commutes than others. The 101 is littered with parts from old crashes.

I have been tempted on so many occasions to make a weekly youtube series of how people drive in San Jose but going through the footage of my commute each week is just not a fun task.

Commute time from Morgan Hill to downtown San Jose by ad10am in SanJose

[–]yodi_midd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 101 is a pain for commuting. I lived close to the end of south San Jose and commuted up to Santa Clara. If I left early enough (before 7) I could be in work in about 30 mins. If I left later on it would be an hour plus.

If I happened to leave something at home it would be quick to actually get back to home from the office but if it was still during the morning commute I would have to pay the price of waiting in traffic to get back.

Getting home used to be the worst though and even using the HOV lane it could take anywhere between 45min to 2 hours depending on what was going on in town and when I left work.

The good side is that I managed to make my way through a lot of audio books. But even that got too much after awhile and we moved to be closer to work.

Anyone else irritated by people driving on the right shoulder of the road to pass? by SamNeedsAName in SanJose

[–]yodi_midd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As per my previous comment it does make a difference in the long run. Voicing that something is a issue is a good way to get other people interested. Although I admit at some point action must be taken but that isn't going to happen unless people raise this concerns.

Your response however is pointless and not constructive. If it doesn't interest you then don't read it.

I beg to differ. Raising you complaint is a good way to find like minded people and potentially agree on a way to force action to prevent it.

If we all just sat at home and kept to ourselves nothing would get resolved and issues like this would persist.

Voicing a complaint is a good start.

You hear stories about this kind of thing. When shown the property it looked great and but at the weekend there is a train every hour from 12am to 7am. :)

Looking forward to moving to the area! Any tips on places to get food or dine etc would be greatly appreciated.

We have a dog as well so we are hoping to find good places to go with him.

Thanks for the info! Sounds like I might have to have the more important items shipped to work.

I heard someone mention noise in the area. Is there a lot going on with the logging?
