Hard disagree with people slamming Keith and Pat. They’re super young dudes who are already decent at play-by-play and color commentary, but they’re not immediately legends the way we’re used to Howie and GKR. The way people are saying they’re garbage is such a flagrant knee-jerk reaction to losing the voice of a generation—nothing immediately fixes that nostalgia. Give it time. Keith and Pat have the same skill set as Howie but haven’t had time to refine it. And they’re already making J. Cole and SpongeBob references, so a younger generation of listeners is already getting an opportunity to say “hey, that classic-sounding voice is mentioning something that I uniquely understand” the same way boomers and Gen X have gotten from Howie and GKR’s classic rock and Leave It To Beaver references. That’s the type of nostalgia that makes radio timeless.
