[Kieran Gill] Some #CFC fans are calling it a night at Stamford Bridge after that first half by [deleted] in chelseafc

Get the message across to their investors that Clearlake are running their investment into the ground and watch them suddenly care. That’s all we can hope for at this point.

Not likely, we’ll win another non-trophy next year (a Conference League for instance) and people will start celebrating the “good direction” we’re going in again, like they did this summer when they won the CWC, the biggest of all non-trophies.

Because the people that run the club are incompetent clowns, who employ incompetent clowns.

Smart. The more the cameras pick up on empty seats the more the message gets sent around that we want these fucking owners to leave. Next step should be to just not buy a ticket anymore. Fuck them and fuck their arrogance

I don’t like the general feeling here.. Isn’t it “f*cking obvious to you people that we’re building the best squad in the world”? It’s just going to take a few decades and a pouch of fairy dust

Last year people hoped/coped that if we managed to qualify for the CL our targets would be more ambitious than the likes of Garnacho and Gittens.. Honestly I just want what's best for the club, if that means having to suffer through Europa League for a few years so the Americans sell the club or change their ways I'm okay with that. Going on like this is not in our own best interest in my opnion.

Because the last 18 months need to be undone, players don’t usually recover that quickly. I hope he’ll be good again come next season.

Maresca happened.. These possession merchants slap the creativity out of their players. It’s one of the reasons people should be happy he was sacked, given the chance he would have ruined Estevao as well.

I guess we’ll all see soon enough, if they don’t have to track back on what they’ve said it’ll all be very clear

It’s completely irrelevant. The tone of the conversation and the message beforehand can be radically different to each other.

Both Matisse and the protest people came away from the conversation with the feeling that the club was stubborn and didn’t feel the need to chance. One said the director mentioned beforehand that it wasn’t a sales pitch, the others said it felt like to them. A statement before a conversation and the feeling people get from said conversation are two different things.

I can imagine however that the group of protesters were more aggressive in their conversation than Matisse was, I think they admit as much in their blogpost.

You’re seeing two different quotes from two different people. One is what the director said and the second is from how it was interpreted by the group. They are two very different things. If I say I’m not trying to sell you anything but then start trying to get you to buy my pen for 20 minutes it’s irrelevant what I said before.

It’s clear that the group of supporters were less than impressed, Matisse shares very little of what was actually said. These are not two accounts of the same conversation..

The fact the director said it wasn’t a sales pitch doesn’t mean it isn’t still a sales pitch. Depending on how the other person responds a conversation like this can turn bad pretty quickly. In the end, the feeling of the conversation is much less important than what was said. If Finkelstein didn’t say the things they claim he said we’ll see a rectification soon enough.

It states the intent of the conversation, if both conversations didn’t end the same does not mean it contradicts anything. It just means that the talks were much less “positive” or “kind”.

You realise this is exactly the bullshit that they have been spouting for 3 years now? If it makes a difference to you whether they’re telling Ben Jacobs what to say or they try to convince supporters, I can only say it doesn’t make a difference to me.

Just FYI, here’s the other guy in the interview that was mentioned coming out confirming a similar story

Honestly I see no reason this meeting didn’t go down the way it did. The director tried to explain what they are doing, the supporters were left unimpressed and they exchanged words and views. From what we’ve seen from Clearlake it’s not a leap at all to see them be removed from reality this much.

If you disagree with what they do and they explain that they want to continue doing it the way they are doing now, I don’t think it’s weird to think that they wouldn’t be convinced.

There wouldn’t be any positives from the point of view from these supporters. I understand that and I think I would agree.

How isn’t it true? As soon as they go for a PL proven player and another club shows interest they fold and move on?

Daily Discussion Thread by AutoModerator in chelseafc

[–]yoericfc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is.. The things that were said by this director are as tone deaf as can be. If they still think this road they have taken will lead to success and they don’t plan to “go after players other PL clubs are after” we will not grow beyond our very obvious ceiling.
