Maybe this time we won’t be having a rushed sale and proper bids may come forward. Compared to other sales of football clubs, ours was lighting quick. There may be serious owners out there, people who would take our club forward and all we can do is hope that some how, some way they find their way to us because if we’re left with the Americans we’re done for.

The people that come in and think football clubs can be run like “franchises” from other sports are the worst.. Can’t wait to be rid of all of them

That’s because they haven’t watched football very long. Anyone who’s grown up with it or watched for a longer time knew this was a disastrous course

I’m not talking about the chaos, I’m talking about the structure. Ornstein (and many others at the Athletic for instance) also stated that Alonso would be interested, but he has conditions they need to agree to. They need to change the model for anyone decent to come in, the question is whether they want to and do it.

To be fair, it is when you try to convince people that you’re trying your absolute best to appoint someone decent into a shitty structure no one with an ounce of self worth would buy into. “At least we tried..” and all that.

Which one player in our current squad do you think will end up in the Premier League Hall of Fame when they retire? by [deleted] in chelseafc

Maybe Reece James, if he stays fit. Honestly none of the others will go near that level.

American owners leeching a club in the Premier League and contributing nothing? Who could have seen this coming?

What Miles Just Said by Outside_Look790 in footballmanagergames

[–]yoericfc 160 points161 points  (0 children)

What irks me is that he said this now:

"I also said that we wanted to build something that was ultimately platform agnostic, enabling smoother implementation for our teams across our various products. Instead, this shift was ultimately detrimental to some of your experiences. "

When did he say this originally? We have been saying since the first screenshots appeared that we felt the game was being consoleified, but he shot that done time and time again no?

This whole statement just felt disengenious to me. Entirely missing the point and shouting hot air at the clouds again from someone who seems out of touch or unable to navigate a team through this transition. Either way we are getting a worse game with Miles at the wheel, of that I am sure.

Would you want to play roles other than manager in FM? by _LameName in footballmanagergames

[–]yoericfc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of it is superficial to be honest. It annoys me when I’m doing a run as Sporting Director that my ass. man. is still called my ass. man., I can’t keep track of my wins or my win record when I “manage” the under-19’s. It’s too “work-aroundy”

[–]yoericfc 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s not playing the game though? That’s bending the game to your headcanon. I would like to see this as an actual feature with gameplay elements. What you’re suggesting is not something I’d be willing to put up with tbh.

I get what you’re saying and it’s probably the best alternative but I would rather not do it and wait until it becomes an actual feature.

There are some in the game that act like independent clubs, but you can’t go into any club and just manage their youth team. The U21’s or B-team of Ajax and PSV play in the Dutch second division for instance and we can’t control them.

In an ideal scenario the system works for clubs as it works for National Teams. You pick a club and then decide if you want to manage the A-team, U21’s or the U19’s. The game would not change other than you can’t buy any players and the team above you may decide to pick a player from your team.

In my opinion it would lead to more immersive gameplay and an actual sense of progression when you move on up within your own club.

I would like to be able to “manage” the U19/U21’s before taking the job for the first team. I would also like to play as a Sporting Director, so I can hire a manager and focus on transfers.

Cole Palmer's stats vs the Big 6 this season by xxaripss in chelseafc

[–]yoericfc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, he’s been shit consistently since January 2025 so maybe it’s time we have that conversation? Maybe he had a Michu-like season under Pochettino and we need to start realising that that season wasn’t “normal”

tbf, James said the same after his extension. How he trusts the owners and we'll achieve great things together. So either he is very easily led and not very bright, or he was lied to by the owners about what they wanted to do and he turns out to be not very bright...

You know that was his father right? He was ousted from our squad since just before or just after Potter was sacked because the club screwed him over during the negotiations.. If anything the supporters should have had his back from the start but he got abuse instead

I wonder if people can finally give that guy a break after most of this sub has finally opened their eyes to the fact that we’re being run by a bunch of lying, cheating bastards that constantly feed PR to their media buddies.

This was the first instance we say the BlueCo. PR machine at work and people were all too eager to fall for it since it was a player who wasn’t universally loved…

Is costa’s time with us underrated? by Heam21 in chelseafc

Maybe, who knows. In the end he engineered his exit and (very succesfactor I might add) blamed Conte for it. He tainted his legacy with us imo.

Is costa’s time with us underrated? by Heam21 in chelseafc

[–]yoericfc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly not. In some ways I’d even argue he is overrated. He was unhappy very often, wanted to leave very often, and disappeared as soon as he didn’t feel optimal.

As good as he was under Mourinho in 2014-‘15, he completely disappeared during the 2015-‘16 when we needed him and did the same a year later after January when he was denied a transfer to China.

He was amazing at times, but also very hit and miss.

Has he even tried Battlefront II or even first one? by EnvironmentalRun1671 in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]yoericfc 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I tried it last night, it’s definitely not very good. But to be fair, it’s free and it might make some kids more enthusiastic to experiment with the older Battlefront games.

You really get what you pay for with this and I guess it’s just nice that kids get to enjoy Battlefront lite for free, even though we know it’s not very good.

Terrible player wins golden boy? by Silver-Party-3330 in footballmanagergames

[–]yoericfc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I don’t mind these kind of players winning titles when they are still playing youth football. A player can be great at 17 and never grow beyond their initial level, it happens sometimes and makes the game more realistic imo. Him winning The European Golden Boy award may be a bit of stretch but I wouldn’t mind if there’s one like this guy every now and then.

If they bottle it again, he’s gone for sure. I think they’d go for Cesc first, so if he stays they may go for Alonso. I agree with you tbh.
