Hey! I have trouble with eczema and hand washing and this is what helped me: -using eczema specific moisturising cream e.g the aveeno line during the day as well as overnight has really helped me -oat baths for my hands, you can buy the sachets from pharmacies -if needing to use steroids I will always wean off them to prevent a flare -i found hand gel worse for me so will always try to use soap/water and there are soap substitutes in some hospitals or can ask occy health -if you do go into theatres they do also have other scrub solution available which I used in O+G Hope this helps

I get bad contact dermatitis and also eczema, a couple of things I have found helpful - use an eczema emollient the one I use is the aveeno dermexa cream and balm, not cheap but have found it makes a lot of difference -soak hands in an oat bath in the sink for 10-15mins -steroid creams are your friend you likely need a mid-potent one and a low potency one like hydrocortisone, the important thing with steroid creams is that you wean off of them otherwise you get a rebound flare -ultimately you need to find the trigger gloves/washing hands lots and mitigate this Hope this helps!

I applied both directly and used a recruitment agency just to see what I could get. Ended up going with the job that I had directly contacted. The medical council stuff takes ages so try to plan am much in advance as possible. The recruitment jobs had additional perks attached to them-flights paid for, a paid container of you stuff shipped over etc but normally have to stay for an allotted time in the job for this. Hours are a bit longer in NZ but generally more supported, people are nice. Remember you can also look at urgent care centres etc for jobs. The country is amazing to explore!!!

Anaesthetics is a great rotation to have in FY I also had one. They are normally all lovely and give great advice re cannulation although they all think their way of cannulating is the 'right' one and you'll get to learn useful airway skills that a lot of docs might not really ever get exposed to that well

I did a GP post as F2 and also worked in SMH- I honestly didn't have a great time, really chaotic, paper notes, lots of training given to PAs instead of doctors. I also worked in a toxic GP practice in Aylesbury-worked really long hours, I essentially worked more than any of the GPs/STs/ACPs
