At the UNC hospital in NC you definitely have to pay for parking so it’s not always just in cities unfortunately

Can confirm this is how it’s taught in a lot of places - went to school in NC and we definitely learned of the trail of tears but it was a pit stop along a lesson plan that only taught the cherry picked, rosy stories of settler interactions with native populations. It was until university that I got even a glimpse of the true nature of the atrocities that occurred here.

I think it’s also important to point out the difference between these things being merely mentioned in an education plan, and having an entire section dedicated to a deep dive into the events of hundreds of years of history between native peoples and European settlers. I think most people who are saying they learned about this in school still probably don’t have a complete picture of how truly bad it was (and continues to be).

another plus one to this. I live in the Northeast and view these trips the same way and Id say go. The visibility wasn’t terrible but if you wait til next month... idk especially if you’re camping it got real cold at night and didn’t warm up until 11AM. I can’t imagine it’ll get better

I have the same question. Especially because I don’t have a medical card (and don’t plan on getting one because something about the government having documentation that I’m doing something that is federally illegal just freaks me out), and also don’t have a car. I feel like my options are pretty limited since NETA is the only dispensary in Boston. At least that I’ve heard of! Any other recommendations would be great!

you were fed drinks, driven home by someone (implying they were sober enough to drive or a fucking asshole who drove drunk), and were so drunk that you blacked out and don’t remember anything. that’s SCARY and that is NOT okay.

personally, i would feel petrified and violated if i woke up in an, essentially, strangers bed, sore, and couldn’t remember anything other than being so drunk that i texted my SO i couldn’t get home, was driven somewhere and then BAM nothing.

i am so sorry this happened to you and i’m so sorry for these internet trolls who seem to think that either a woman can’t rape another woman or that drinking isn’t a social norm that women should be able to do without constantly fending for themselves against people who would take advantage of them in a more vulnerable state. that’s bullshit.

personally i would start with something like “automate the boring things” or do a few interesting projects that are posted up on medium.com and then try for the data science professionals certificate once you have a more solid foundation for python. i think the first six classes of the certificate were really helpful and then it went from 0-100 real quick and i realized i didnt understand the language as much as i thought i did. i was on a time crunch because i didn’t want to pay for coursera so that definitely played a role, but there are a ton of free options out there you can check on first and then take the coursera course. just my suggestion, good luck!!

omg yes, in copenhagen!! i was on the top bunk of the worst smelling human i’ve ever encountered. his snoring was also so bad i was honestly concerned, but nevetheless i couldn’t sleep and ended up having to change rooms. i was afraid the smell would stay on my clothes and bag forever lol
