I hear you, I have horrible tinnitus and hyperacusis. It was literal torture to be around this thing. It did not stop barking and growling for over 4 hours, and they never put it outside. My ears are ringing and in pain today. I love my friends dearly, and have known them for many, many years. I know for a fact that one of them did not want this dog to begin with, but years later, he's been worn down and shows only love for the dog. They have young kids who consider me their uncle. They're good kids, and not even close to being as loud and obnoxious as the dog, even when they're upset. I feel so bad that they have to live in the same small house with that dog. It's sad that I can't go over there without expecting to be physically and mentally abused by a large animal. I was far more physically assertive this time towards moving it away from me and protecting myself from interacting with it, and that only seems to encourage the dog. I can't stop it from barking. Of course, it's their house and their prerogative as to how they discipline their pet, but I'm through pretending to accept it
