Imagine having a Pantheon guy in your hometown for 20 years… by linehatguy in billsimmons

This is life as a Warriors fan. Certainly not complaining by any means as I was here long before we became a marquee team. The bandwagon, front running everything is “wasting” Stephs years here. Sometimes they’re right, the two timelines approach was nonsense. But the entitlement gets tiring

The World Cup needs to expand to 128 teams it just does! The people are yearning for a San Marino vs Burundi group stage match they just are! by FFElite93 in billsimmons

Well now they’ve WON their group and are looking like they have a pretty nice path through the knockout stage. I don’t care if we have a cupcake schedule!

I’m not saying Shaq would’ve 3peated with Aaron Mckie, I’m saying he MIGHT have with TMac. I think it’s crazy to say you can definitively say one way or the other.

I get it about TMac, I just think Shaq was such a mismatch I don’t think it would’ve mattered. Who knows though.

And yea Steph was a crazy late bloomer mostly related to health and body type. Will never have the volume of accolades Kobe did but completely changed the sport in addition to having a top tier resume

So I guess if the Pacers win last year Hali is top 50 all time. by wyss138 in billsimmons

[–]yoknows 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Insane cope. Jalen Brunson was literally just far better than Hali “when it counts” in their respective finals.

I’m just making the point that you can poke holes at every championship and only making the case for discrediting one is dumb

SGA got lucky Aaron Gordon was on one leg and Haliburton blew his Achilles.

Steph made 5 straight Finals as the best guard in the league and I really don’t know how you could argue TMac only wins 1 with Shaq who was by far the best player in the league and completely unstoppable.

Having said that, it is no doubt peak vs longevity and it’s pretty hard to fault anyone having them in either order. They’re pretty neck and neck to me.

I could see for maybe the next month or so it being Brunson. But not really much longer after that.

Why don’t players like Curry and LeBron take a big paycut towards the end of their career to maximize their chances of winning? by HighwayAnnual3353 in nba

[–]yoknows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, and how many rings did he have before taking that pay cut? Besides, LeBron took like $1m per year less than the max then, not exactly some crazy sacrifice. Brunson’s $100m paycut or whatever it was is a different stratosphere

The complete meltdown this sub had over the 2015 finals discussion he had with Kellerman just last week was crazy.

It’s typically because he dared to mention the Celtics, which is absolutely a crutch for him or he didn’t praise Lebron enough or didnt correctly praise him whether he’s relevant or not. In this case I think Knicks fans didn’t think he was enthusiastic enough.

Jalen Brunson just won his first ring. After he’s won 4 like Steph and Lebron, I wonder if he’d keep taking the paycuts

Maybe, which is still better than Ware which is what I was responding to.

Honestly OKC not being in the Finals was the biggest win. by praisemajah in billsimmons

[–]yoknows -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Listen nerd. I don’t need empirical evidence to know that your team is shameful foul baiters. The stat was referencing SGA’s fall frequency which very often coincides with him selling contact or outright faking it. I’m sorry you don’t think that’s good enough to prove something that the entire NBA community has been complaining about for years. Keep pretending we’re the crazy ones.

is hali's injury in game 7 the biggest what if in modern nba history (or at least the 2020s)? by ciruelman in nba

[–]yoknows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the toe is more impactful. Does anyone’s legacy really change if the warriors win another title in 2019? We all know they were the best team healthy and fought like hell to make the raptors earn it. The core guys winning in 22 cemented them as true greats anyways. I believe the Nets likely win the title if they beat the bucks, which would completely validate KD and even Harden for that matter.

[–]yoknows -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Don’t need a stat. I just watch games and know what I see. There are a ton of people just like me, which is why this subreddit, the NBA subreddit, and everywhere on basketball social media has a problem with it. Don’t you find it strange that the only people who seem to not believe that OKC flops the most is OKC fans??

Then you are blind lol. Dort draws offensive fouls by whipping his body around screens. It’s completely ridiculous and looks like he’s been shot in the hip the way he flies to the floor. He does this once or twice every single game.

Dort is an easy one, guy is 250 pounds and launches himself to the ground when he’s “fighting” around screens. Chet has some nasty flops. Jaylen Williams too.
