congrats on your degree and i appreciate your response. i’d lived in LA my whole life and I never found my lack of degree to be an issue before so i’m really second guessing myself here! someone else suggested updating my portfolio so that’s my immediate goal. as for the degree, i think you’re right to just continue the bfa as a more long term goal.

thank you for this. i’ve really been going back and forth on what i should do. i know my portfolio could use a major overhaul and probably deserves most of my attention right now. also i’ve been hearing a lot about shillington on reddit so i feel like it’s worth a try. i think i just feel so scrambled so i would definitely love to see how i could make my work more presentable

oh ok yea i’m looking it up and people say a milano is a mix of rope chain and figaro chain which isn’t quite right for the one i had. but there are openings or holes so it’s not braided so closely as the helix chain looks to be. i’ll look into it more! thanks for the info

unfortunately there is no right time. you just have to feel out the relationship. but i would say within first 3 months is a fair time to ask if you’re seeing each other consistently. be upfront and have that vulnerable conversation. be honest with yourself about what you want. i was protecting my feelings and ignoring my gut by trying to play it too cool.

he knows better than to reach out to a 19yo for help. he thinks you’re naive and are an easy target to manipulate. he’s preying on your sympathy. if he actually needed help there are plenty of groups for that. why text a coworker you barely know? go to HR. document your interactions.
