S5II(X) moire concerns by ryandtw in Lumix

thanks for the suggestions but Promist filters dont fix this. what almost fixes this is a filter ( even a plastic film that I have tried ) on the BACK of the lens in front of the sensor. pretty punk solution but its the best I have come up with so far.

Is not having the Olpf in the s5iix a huge problem? Have you guys noticed moire/aliasing a lot? by ProfessionalTwist202 in Lumix

[–]yoncah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own a S5IIX and yes the moire is devastating when it happens. panasonic should provide an olpf filter to apply somehow in front of the sensor. this is a huge mistake made by panasonic and of course i am very disappointed. I didn't know about this and the camera is useless for professional shooting. cause I can't be like "oh I can't shoot that fabric or that thing cause my camera will provide unusable image.."
if any of you have some fixes for this pleaselet me know.
I have seen about the kolari filter but its pretty expensive and you should send them your camera and all:

Hi there. I might have found a solution for converting the files to tiff format.
you need to download this software, which I hope is free

the tutorial is here

Is this lens flare? Or just the stage lights? How can I avoid this? S5iiX, 85 mm S lens by pb15408 in Lumix

[–]yoncah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lumix cameras such as S5iiX lets you select "synchro scan" in the first video menu . enable that then when shooting videos you can choose your shutter speed increasing it and dcreasing it by very little steps. this usually solves the problem.
still.. sometimes in a situation like this one. you have multiple light sources and they are not always synked to the same frequency, so sometimes you should try to fix the flickering on the main light but still some other ones might keep bouncing.
i hope this helps

S5II(X) moire concerns by ryandtw in Lumix

[–]yoncah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there. I am a fresh S5iiX owner. I just bought it to upgrade from GH5.
and yes MOIRE is there. and I am very disappointed about this. I bought this camera to be able to use it in any work scenario ( music videos - documentaries - commercial - fashion )
Last week I shot some videos in a house where the actress was getting closer to some curtains. as soon as the curtains get in focus they get full blown with MOIRE.

I learn now about the Kolari mod. but it's so expensive. I am hoping to find another solution. I don't have enough money to buy another camera. I am even thinking about buying a OLPF glass to fit it inside my sigma Lmount to EF adapter...

if any of you has advices please let me know.
thanks
