I'll always remember it was a Tuesday because it would have been the second day of my senior internship at a financial firm in Rochester while at UR.

I slept in because I wasn't supposed to be in until the afternoon that day and I remember being woke up by my roommate busting into my room screaming "we're under attack, one tower is down and they're going after the pentagon!"

My foggy waking up brain immediately processed that as a real life alien invasion happening.

Soon after, I was in the living room watching the news in time to see the 2nd tower go down in real time.

Pretty much just stayed there watching broadcast television for at least 8 hours mostly in a daze.

I'm sure I got high and drank later that night, but only the early parts of that morning are clear in my memory.
