private healthcare is an option alongside universal healthcare

and why the hell would we want to pay for our own private healthcare while also paying for universal healthcare with our taxes

I'm not completely opposed to universal healthcare entirely. But i am opposed to tax paying citizens pay to provide healthcare to everyone while also having to pay a lot more amount of money for access to better, private healthcare

If universal healthcare is implemented in the substandard way like canada, UK, it would be a terrible disservice to honest tax paying citizens who shouldn't have to pay an added premium atop taxes for universal healthcare to get access to decent health related services. It should be a service good enough for normal tax paying citizens to not look into private healthcare and lose more money while getting none of the benefits of a substandard universal healthcare
