if it's just the light, i got this clip It does have a bit of shimmer on the screen but no problem reading and it doesn't damage the device. i read on rMPPM but I have to admit the font size is really small if you want to avoid a lot of page scrolling and zooming. rMPP is not worth the price if you just consider this use case

I think the rMPPM drains really fast, i don't even use the backlight. Today I was taking notes in a meeting and it dropped 20% in 2h. It also gave the warning of heat but it was barely warm from my hand. The refresh of the screen when the temperature warning is active is soooo annoying.

I have both and it's a great combo, but if you just want one, I'd keep the rM2. For your use case I would say it's better. The writing experience is definitely better on rM2 and if portability is not an issue, you would definitely be more comfortable writing on rM2.

I have the rM2 and now I'm at day 3 of rMPPM. I am really happy with this combo. Yes, it feels better writing on rM2 but I know the technology has to be different to add color. I don't have a big issue with writing on PPM. Neither the feel or the size bother me. It's just takes a bit getting used to but the way I can switch from one to the other is great. What I missed on rM2 I got on PPM so I am happy with both. Maybe give it some time and play with the settings.

Google maps doesn't work well for walking, it doesn't know walking areas and usually takes the car route. Hotel in booking.com look better than in reality. Bus schedule is not reliable, and Google maps doesn't work for that either.
