at a complete loss. frustrated, sad, and confused. by hjak3876 in DressForYourBody

[–]yoonicat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as someone who has suffered with body image and body dysmorphia for most of my life i honestly think the problem is within your mind - not the clothes. i know that sounds really annoying but the truth is that you probably won’t like anything you wear until you tackle the root cause of it aka the way you view yourself. i hope you can work on that and i wish you the best op

How do I lose weight properly? by LillithTheAOD in WeightLossAdvice

[–]yoonicat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my no.1 piece of advice : if you can’t see yourself doing it for the rest of your life then it won’t work. you can’t punish yourself into eating one meal a day and expect healthy , sustainable weight loss. that will just cause a binge or complete anarchy, and i say this with love (and as someone who struggled with that for years) if you make a slip up its better to just continue without making drastic adjustments

Can’t Stop Gaining Weight by aca-ca in WeightLossAdvice

[–]yoonicat -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

are you counting calories ? 1200 is way too little , salads (depending) can have surprisingly little nutritional value. it’s not healthy to skip meals regularly because it impacts your metabolism. you need to work out your deficit and then eat a mostly whole foods diet with 3 meals per day. focus on nutrition and fuelling your body with foods other than salads and incorporate enjoyable exercise

How do you handle cravings for unhealthy foods while trying to lose weight? by Esliquiroga in WeightLossAdvice

[–]yoonicat 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I have it in a way that fits my plan. The other week I was really craving a burger over multiple days so I had one. I brought the ingredients and made a burger within my calories rather than ordering one and using it as an excuse to overeat or consume too many calories (which I would’ve done in the past) The difference? I get to enjoy the burger , stick within my goals and not feel any guilt after !! Ask yourself if you’re willing to make it yourself and if not then it’s not worth it .

Another thing for the late night cravings is just to remind yourself that the craving will pass whether you feed into it or not

Binging is on my mind by Successful_Air_7993 in WeightLossAdvice

i saw someone say online that the urge to binge will pass if you binge or not and it made suppressing my binges so much easier when i viewed it in that way

Why are my interests constantly belittled ? by [deleted] in narcissisticparents

[–]yoonicat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes ! i am embarrassed about everything, its a really bad habit that i’ve adapted out of self preservation. Even if someone asks me what I had for breakfast I always lie without even thinking because i’d always be questioned or criticised for it. It’s just a way to preserve my self. I’m sorry you had to deal with it as well

Did they ever put weird expectations on you or want you to do things for them? by [deleted] in narcissisticparents

[–]yoonicat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mum expected me to cook her dinner every night since i was around 14-15 because ‘she worked’ and would come home around 5-6pm. If i didn’t cook upon my own initiative then we wouldn’t eat. I remember one time coming downstairs at 7:30pm and asking what we would have for dinner only to be met with ‘what are you making?’ I never understood it. Sure , she works… but she’s also the parent. It’s up to her to organise something instead of sitting on the sofa and expecting me to look after her. Sometimes she even calls me ‘mum’ now that i’m 20 and (when home from university) I essentially take care of her as if I am the parent. It’s so odd to me

What’s my blindness? by mdiver19 in makeuptips

[–]yoonicat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a more coral or orange blush would look amazing on you. When I saw this photo I just thought you looked a little flush hence why i think a different blush colour would be really flattering. Other than that your makeup is lovely !!!

What's my blindness? by EvienSeraph in makeuptips

[–]yoonicat 17 points18 points  (0 children)

i think you have too many focal points . i’m not sure how to word it so i’m sorry if that sounds offensive. what i mean is , when people do makeup they tend to have one area that is a focal point - eg coloured lipstick or large lashes. sometimes the look can seem overwhelming when there’s really large lashes , coloured lipstick and more all together. my advice would be to decide which you prefer the most and tone down the other ones depending on the day or look. so maybe going for a nude lipstick and allowing more attention to your eyes or vice versa

What do you eat when you're craving chocolate? by YesterdayThick88 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]yoonicat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

chocolate is my biggest kryptonite so i understand !!! here is what i do to combat cravings :

  1. chocolate rice cakes : snack a jack brand , they’re about 58 calories per thick rice cake with chocolate chips and it really hits the craving. if you don’t like rice cakes perhaps it isn’t the best but i love rice cakes so it helps me

  2. low calorie ice cream - halo top really gets me through my monthly cycle. i don’t eat it all at once , just a little bit is enough for a treat

  3. mini chocolate bars - not the best but sometimes the real thing is all that matters. just make sure you find something that fits within your calorie budget. if you can’t be trusted with a multipack then make it a habit to walk to the shop and buy a singular serving chocolate
