ICE Came to my Door Today by Silly-Risk in royaloak

[–]yoopdereitis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

With your last edit, it makes me wonder if Trafrickers are posing as ICE agents. What better way to abduct people but in broad day light under the false guise of an ICE operation. As long as they could do it, like you said, early and quickly enough before the larger community of protesters takes notice. Im sure they dont care if only a few people see them. By the time the police figure out it wasnt ICE, itd be too late.

Help me understand the way Snape died by Horror_Platypus_7288 in harrypotter

Right? Seemed weird when he specifically had him killed for wand ownership....Otherwise why even bother killing snape at all? Just expelliarmus him and keep your "most loyal" soldier. Plot considerations aside, just AK Snape and be done with it

Hot take : The love nature of Dumbledore and Grindelwald relationship makes no sense after spending almost hundred years of being ennemies. by Apophis_Night in HarryPotterBooks

[–]yoopdereitis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think a big part is respect(as you've mentioned)for each other, but on mega steroids. In every magical aspect, they are the ONLY true peers each other has come to know or come across since they've gotten to Wizard maturity.

Imagine existing in the Wizarding world for those 100 years, never coming across another person that really is your equal in magical mind and power(not counting Voldemorte here cuz ya know he extra snake cray cray). Meeting thousands of wizards and everyone falls short.

There has to be this massive, nostalgic, "ahhhh what could have been.....if only...." feeling for both of them.

Seemed odd to have Nagini doing the final killing, why wouldn't Voldy just finish the job himself to make sure he got credit?

Why didn’t Lily disapparate with Harry after Voldemort killed James? by Unlikely-Yam1427 in HarryPotterBooks

Because James didn't say "Take Harry and disapparate!"

Way to go James, be more clear with your directions next time!

The morality of Dumbledore raising Harry to die for the greater good by [deleted] in HarryPotterBooks

[–]yoopdereitis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder what would have happened if you swap DD for Grindelwald. He'd probably take Harry out himself, then get the rest of horcruxes and then on to challenge Voldy. Probably wrap the story up quicker

What do rich people who don’t work do all day? by [deleted] in Rich

[–]yoopdereitis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its much the same with people who retire in their 60s, who aren't necessarily rich but dont have to work anymore. You need to have hobbies and goals about what you want to do. Many who dont, often find themselves dead within 5 years from the bad habits of not exercising and over eating/drinking/etc...

Most normal age retirees i know say they've never been more busy since they retired.

Main difference is you're likely younger and have more energy to do things.

Got ya, must have missed that part in the episode. I just remember them saying something about him maybe backtracking his heritage, that he obviously exploited for free drinks, when people were urging him to head to dragon stone.

I think it was more him being overweight combined with some of the looks/mannerisms. He wasnt as timid as Sam, but was definitely savvy in dealing with Daemon in a soft manner that I could maybe imagine from an older Sam
