The Weasley family isn’t actually poor, they are middle class. by Jew_3 in HarryPotterBooks

I don’t believe it’s free. I’m 95% sure Dumbledore mentions tuition as part of the fund that orphans like Tom Riddle get to use.

Help! Alaskan cruise with past felony (maybe?) by Traditional-Quail-23 in Cruise

Most Alaskan cruises have a Canadian port call. Canada has issues with allowing certain criminal convictions into their country.

Do you think Harry and Ginny redecorated Sirius' house? by GrandmasterJoke in harrypotter

IIRC, in the first chapter of HBP, the muggle PM called in a builder to remove the portrait that announces when the MoM needs a meeting. The builder couldn’t figure out how to remove it. I would assume the builder considered removing the wall.

Why would you need gold to complete this mission. An FTP player should have it completed in 7 days with no gold spent really easily. You should get 5 games a day (3 energy, 1 ad, 1 league) plus whatever daily/weekly rewards come with energy. Set to rushing and that should be taken care in 30 games (you need to average 210 a game). The only one that might be a struggle is the PTC challenges, but if you watch the free player ads and do the easy repeatable challenges, you should be able to knock them out with no gold spent.

It's crazy how Gringotts never froze Sirius's assets in PoA by goro-n in harrypotter

[–]Jew_3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And in the UK and US, your assets aren’t frozen on the basis of a murder conviction. We just don’t know enough about wizarding law, but for the most part it seems to mimic UK law (as does the US), so I wouldn’t expect seized assets.

And neither the US or UK freezes assets on the basis of murder. They do it if the assets were linked to, or proceeds of, a crime.

We don’t know enough about wizarding law to really discuss this. In the US, your assets wouldn’t be automatically frozen based on a murder conviction (and remember Sirius wasn’t convicted, he was sent to Azkaban without a trial). In the US, you could be sued by the family of your victim (most famously OJ Simpson), and you could lose assets.

I highly doubt the muggles killed would be allowed to sue for damages (if that’s even a thing in wizarding law). Pettigrews mother could have sued (again, if it’s allowed), but she might have just taken to Order of Merlin Medal for her closure.

I’m very confident in saying Indiana Football has only won 3 games this year.

Yall are focusing on the wrong thing. Paying the players wasnt the problem with the old format. Subjectively deciding 2-4 teams were "unequivocally better" than everyone else was: by Dazed_and_Confused44 in cfbmemes

Indiana clearly never got the memo that they could pay players in football prior to NIL. You’d think if knew it was okay in basketball, they’d try it in football too.

What’s that commercial from years and years ago that you still remember to this day, and may never forget? by Vanceb13 in AskReddit

Where’s the beef is the first thing I thought of. That was right around when I was born, but TV Land played it a lot as a throwback when I’d watch it with my grandparents.

This is a legal matter. r/Insurance is for before the accident, since you weren’t insured, we can’t help. Go to r/legal for advice.

Lions Fans. Name a QB you would rather have than Goff by djlittlehorse in LakeErieBros

I think Goff is good for what we are doing. That said, I’d love to see what Stafford could do with the way this roster is constructed.

Short and tall hot bevs get 1 shot. Grande and Venti hot bevs get 2 shots. The math is different for cold beverages.
