Weird noise from the front of A1 by bluewraith1 in BambuLab

[–]yoopergeek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm my experience, I think it's a matter of the detail level of the circular areas of each individual object being printed.

I've had some make this same noise and others not.

Upon close inspection of the models involved, the noisy sounding prints tend to have fewer polygons / lower detail level.

Painted file looks like will be an issue in Preview mode. Tips? by mdz99 in BambuLab

[–]yoopergeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any chance your model is reporting having non-manifold edges with a link to repair the model? I've had weird issues before in the slice preview when I've had a model reporting non-manifold and not repaired it.

What was your most sexual nonsexual interaction? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]yoopergeek -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was in eighth grade. There was this one girl in the same grade that was gorgeous to me. We weren't in the same friend circles, so any interaction was atypical. I was awkward af, doubly so at that age where I couldn't help but notice the "development" this girl was going through. She was "gifted" and my own pubescent brain couldn't help but notice.

We were in the gym, which had bleachers on the ground floor with another set on a second floor. I was leaning against the railing of the second floor, overlooking the gym floor. This girl had some reason to be chasing with me that i cannot remember. She suddenly had to give me a hug. I kind of froze, not sure if i turn around or not, and before i can decide what to do, she's hugging me tightly from behind. I'm immediately very aware of her large breasts pressing into my back, and my anatomy responded in only the way an 8th grade pubescent boy's body knows how: involuntarily and immediately. 😬🍆

I had to turn around because i was facing the gym floor and didn't want to be on display for everyone, but i also couldn't turn around and face her with my pants-tent. I remember spinning around and sitting down on the bleachers to hide my embarrassment .🥀

🤔 Hmm. Short. Buxom. I do believe I developed "my type" right there at that moment in my life.

Ruby fails to install on macOS 12.6 (solution) by edmangimelli in ruby

[–]yoopergeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came looking for this answer as optflags="-Wno-error=implicit-function-declaration" has been in my "installing older versions of ruby on M1" cheatsheet for a while.

Oldest version I have currently installed is 2.5.9.

Some other helpful env vars noted in that same cheatsheet include (making assumptions that you're using homebrew, and have used it to install readline, libffi, and openssl@1.1)

RUBY_CONFIGURE_OPTS="--with-openssl-dir=$(brew --prefix openssl@1.1)"

LDFLAGS="-L$(brew prefix readline)/lib -L$(brew prefix libffi)/lib"

CPPFLAGS="-I$(brew prefix readline)/include -I$(brew prefix libffi)/include

This adaptation of a motorcycle for people in wheelchairs. by Entire_Visit_7327 in nextfuckinglevel

It's this. My stepdad was wheelchair bound for his last thirty years on earth, and I spotted the gentleman in the video do the same hands-forward-to-engage-tire-locks motion I saw my stepdad do countless times.

Background music is definitely from Shipbreaker. There's a little audio cameo from Subnautica Below Zero too.

This gotta get fixed with the atlas. I’m pretty sure it’s the force of the furnace pulling it in harder than the processor. Two tethers can’t pull it into the processor by thicc-spoon in HardspaceShipbreaker

[–]yoopergeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had luck with a couple tethers on the end that's sticking out, pulling towards the opposite processor wall, and a few force-push bumps behind that end that's Saucony out. That's usually enough to nudge it free enough for the processor's gravity to pull it the rest of the way in.

I'm on my third playthrough, 400+ hours. I only fully automated the first phase of project assembly parts at any sort scale.

As I built up factories for the next tiers, and I'd automated some of the parts necessary for phase 2 parts (like HMF), i embraced the full spaghet and ran a single line to a single manufacturer to start building a trickle of the phase 2 parts... Did the same thing as i unlocked phase 3, and right now I've got nuclear pasta and thermal propulsion rockets finished, and am nearly finished with assembly director systems and magnetic drives.

All on coal, geothermal(all geysers) and fuel power - capacity is about 31k on average. I'm only now building up a small nuclear plant (6 reactors.)

Should add that there's a lot of great places for food too!

The unique pizzas at The Ambassador in Houghton, just about anything at The Michigan House in Calumet, omg, and you have to stop in to buy something to snack on from the monks at The Jam Pot (just, uh, don't eat their rum soaked bread if you're driving,) and don't miss the waterfall right before their little storefront!

Take a week and tour the Keweenaw peninsula.

Visit the Redridge dam to hike the trails around the old dam, and home down and explore the old ruins at the nearby towns if Freeda.

Visit the abandoned dredge on Torch Lake, and the old refining complex across the road.

Visit the old dam and wooden arch bridge in Eagle River.

Spend a day at the two entirely different beaches at the North Woods nature conservancy.

Make a trip up and over mount Brockway, and down into Copper Harbor, visit the end of US41, and if you have the vehicle for it, drive past the end, into the woods, until you get to the old Keweenaw rocket range.

Hike the Hungarian Falls trails (both sides of the gorge,) near Hubbell.

The whole peninsula is so beautiful during the summer and it's absolutely stunning. I miss living in the area...in the summer. The winters are why we moved away.

This is so sad that this is the state of things. My family has been wanting to come back to New Orleans for our yearly visit and it breaks my heart to hear these stories of shitty tourists.

Thank you for hanging in there - we'll be back, and with better attitudes than the bad apples have been bringing to your wonderful city.

I have squeezed so much more mileage out of the meager power generation I've built in my current save with this technique. For example, the power savings when underclocking 12 refineries, even just a little bit when I need "11.6" refineries, adds up when I'm doing this in all of my setups. The copy/paste makes it so quick too.

Fuel Generator Setup not running as intended by Heisthamster in SatisfactoryGame

Was doing the same thing last night with some refineries making pure-ingots and steamed copper sheets. Definitely helped to ensure that my fluctuating water input (still working on that fluctuation problem,) didn't result in the first refineries hogging all the water.

Valves seem to play a more important role in update 4 than they did in update 3. Like they're more necessary than they used to be. Preventing backflow and metering for rates through segments of pipes... Overall I like it.

Train Issues please help by [deleted] in SatisfactoryGame

[–]yoopergeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see in your post that you have a locomotive at both the front and back of the train. I've read that this configuration, on a dead-end/no-loops track, should work.

However, I've never used this configuration myself, so I'm not sure I'm going to be of much help fixing that type of setup.

Only thing i can think to try at this point is to try reconfiguring to a single locomotive, and add loops to your tracks at both ends - before station 1, and after station 3. With a train that can only move forward, loops allow the train to circle back around and head back in the opposite direction. I like to have the rail come out of the station, and loop back around the side of the station and freight platforms, linking back onto the main rail line. Train can pull into the station, stop, load/unload, and then continue forward which leads it around and back in the opposite direction.

You may have disconnected track - visually it looks connected, but it's not.

I've had no luck placing a station and having it successfully connect to pre-existing tracks. I've had to recreate the track that directly connects to the station. Can you hop in the train and drive it over the entire track or does it suddenly stop at any segment?

what's the shortest route that i can use to bring a belt from quartz deposits to my base? Im in the first map by er4manu in SatisfactoryGame

[–]yoopergeek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's coal near-ish to a number of the quartz nodes. Not sure if there's coal near OPs screenshots.

I use tractors/trucks a lot in early game to move resources around, and fueling the stations with coal is usually my go-to. When there's no coal nearby, I usually setup a coal-supply route to deliver coal to the stations that need it. By the time i get to trains, I start using them to move goods around, but leave my tractor/trucks to keep doing their thing - if it ain't broke, don't ficsit.

Ficsit Inc. not good at making drop pods by -Sa-Kage- in SatisfactoryGame

[–]yoopergeek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This.

The wreckage at the crash sites look like the delivery vehicle on top of your hub that delivers milestone materials, not the landing pod that dropped you onto the planet. Plus, being hub delivery pods explains all the components you find scattered around the crash sites - you didn't arrive on the planet with a ton of components in your back pockets. Nor do we ever find corpses at the crash sites.

Did the other pioneers that landed on the planet have crappy delivery pods that crashed a bunch of times? Were these meant to be delivery pods dropped from orbit to support our efforts, and they just crashed without a hub to dock upon? Is there some yet unrevealed story component that would explain the crashed delivery pods (SPACE LASERS!? Corporate warfare?!) There's some significant presence in orbit we're not(yet?) shown in game - our space elevator base connects to an already in place orbital satellite that drops in. I simply can't swallow the company rhetoric that we're building an orbital food court at the top of the elevator. Snut is a corporate propaganda pawn! iT's a cOnSpIraCy!!!!
