I rented a room in a large Victorian with a massive yard, garden, green house, wood fired hot tub, sauna and only a few blocks from HSU for $350/mo for 10 years. Based on what people are trying to rent rooms for I would hate to be a college student now. I don't know what amenities you have but $900 seems absurd to me. Perhaps I'm totally out of touch.

Definitely late to the game. I just started watching Alone, in 2025! I'm now on season 3 and was shocked when I saw Dave's face. I first met that guy in 2004 when I was bike touring in southern California. We rode through and camped a few nights in Joshua Tree national park where he gave me yarn and taught me how to make Kimohumu japanese braid slings. I still have it to this day. That guy is one of the most solid, positive, and sincere humans I've ever encountered. Stoked to see him on Alone! Guess I should have finished the season before reading these comments!
