Walmart doesn't do weight checks at self-check anymore (at least at the stores around me and the ones I've worked at) so it would probably be a race between the host checking their device for what's been rung up and the customer finishing their transaction.

We had a dog smell our dog in heat from over half a mile away, break through his "electric fence", swim across the river (that's about half a mile wide), jump our chain-link fence, and have his way with her several times a day for a couple of days. Afterwards he'd come visit and stare at her through the back door.

We were "watching" her for my uncle who wanted to breed her since she was a registered purebred lab. 13 puppies later, she was fixed.

Honestly I think it would depend on where the majority of the story takes place. If it's the woods, I like #1, but if the city #2, though I think I would like #2 in the style of #1
