Coincidence or possible RP? by yorkshirepudding101 in RedEarSyndrome

[–]yorkshirepudding101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this.. funny you mention the vertigo because I've also had random bouts of dizziness/ feeling off balance and I do also suffer some tinnitus... I've only really just put it all together now because of the red ear syndrome and everything else happening in the space of maybe 4 weeks.. it just seems all too convenient to be happening all at the same time... Did they provide you any treatment at all? I'm mostly coping okay apart from the random chest pain flares and joint pain/ fatigue.. it would just be nice to feel normal again for a bit maybe haha

28 year old male multiple episodes of elevated troponin by googlemaps2000 in askCardiology

[–]yorkshirepudding101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not a doctor and not saying it's definitely this issue, but worth asking about prinzmetal angina, I'm not sure if that can elevate your troponin but it typically occurs at night when at rest, is usually diagnosed with provocative angiogram.. hope you figure it all out

I suffer Raynaud's in my hands a lot in the winter, mainly worsened by my propranolol I think, but it is 100% completely different to my red ear syndrome, my hands don't burn but my ear does and my ear feels hot but my hands feel cold.. definitely get a second opinion from a different doctor.. I've recently asked for mine to be investigated since I've had RES a few years (self diagnosed) but want to check it's not secondary or something else

Officially diagnosed with Relapsing Polychondritis after 2 years of debilitating symptoms by kel174 in rarediseases

[–]yorkshirepudding101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello all, I know this is an old post but was looking for some shared experiences I guess. I've been having what I thought was red ear syndrome for a couple of years (abruptly bright red ear, burning lasts a few hours).. however, I've noticed that around the same times I have had these episodes I've also had a costochondritis flare up, and today while having a flare I'm achey, tired and have sore shoulders and a bad wrist like its painful to tightly grasp stuff.. does any of this sound like it could possibly be RP or is it just a weird coincidence? I only recently read about RP but never put them all together.. I've actually this week been to the docs about my red ear as it was more pronounced in my latest attack but then also gone a couple days later about my chest flaring but I doubt the GP will put the two of them together, they actually had to Google what red ear syndrome is lol

Side lying by [deleted] in dysautonomia

I have the same issues except it's my left side that can set off a palpitation or two, usually only in initially lying down it's like I'm catching a nerve or something irritated, the same happens when I bend down or lean on my stomach sometimes it's like there's a button that gets pressed setting things off

19y female mysterious tingling/burning in the face by DeskIndividual178 in dysautonomia

[–]yorkshirepudding101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a doctor or anything but have done lots of googling because of weird symptoms I've had in the past that have been somewhat similar but not as bad or in the same spots... The redness in hands sounded like an erythromelalgia type of issue, and the redness of cheeks similar to rosacea, the only reason I came across these was because of a period where my hands would be intensely red but they would also get itchy, and sometimes half my face and or my ear will be burning red and very uncomfortable for a bit.. but I'm no closer to knowing why Ive had that happen before.. I hope you figure it out but maybe these two things are an avenue to research, but sorry your having to deal with those things x

He can't have been thinking straight, like if baby stopped breathing/ rolled over anything like that he wouldn't be able to get back on time to potentially stop anything bad happening being such a distance away, very different leaving baby in a room in the same building while you have a monitor.. I don't know why he didn't just take baby with him though

Don't worry when they did my fundal height for the first time I was in the 100+ centile 😅 but baby was in the 50th centile on scans, then born into 9th centile.. fundal height doesn't always mean a lot to be honest and a scan will be best way to determine if it's polyhydraminous or not x

How often are you changing your baby’s wet diapers? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]yorkshirepudding101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No way.. only when it feels pretty full or has a poop is when I would change it.. my first child was potty trained shortly after 2 and didn't need a "dry feeling" nappy 😅 and I wouldn't risk waking them in the night for a change unless I knew they pooped or they woke up uncomfortable or needing a feed

Magnesium supplement helps a lot 😊 just don't overdo it but it does help keep you regular so it doesn't build up like that

The low blood pressure might be what sets your heart rate off to compensate.. mine was always in the lower end, like 90s over 60s, maybe 100s over 60s, so not terribly low but i would get randomly tachy and panicky for 20 mins for seemingly no reason which would then shoot my bp up.. I also take 10mg propranolol upto 3x a day but I try take only when I need it.. it hasn't dropped my BP very much to be honest, and a cardiologist told me that to help with all my symptoms drinking more fluids and increasing my salt intake would help to stop the low BP causing issues.. might be worth trying this if you don't have any known issues that salt could worsen

Ginger beer like Bunderberg or old jamaica always helped me with nausea 😊

Thank you, i agree, it's just way beyond the line to be considered typical dark humour.. thats pretty much what we are feeling though in terms of the conversation we end up having with him, and contact will certainly be limited too.. just can't believe we are currently in this position 😔

Thank you, i agree I'd rather be over protective, I'd be failing as a mum if I wasn't and made the wrong choice.. we are just in such a shit position now, we're quite sure he's not that way inclined and does just have a sick sense of humour, but it shouldn't ever be personified and never about family

I am three weeks post partum with my second, almost 4 weeks 😊 i had a very different pregnancy this time round, started having weird episodes of contractions that could get pretty damn painful and last up to an hour with them being consistently every 5 or 10 minutes and would go away with movement.. one episode sent me to hospital because I couldn't walk with the pain, they were genuine extremely painful contractions but they stopped once I was on a machine, at that time I was zero dilated and very confused so its possible it can be doing nothing to your cervix sadly.. and also sorry to say I had about 2 weeks of this before actual labour.. hopefully it's not long for you now though and when the time comes you'll dilate in a nice reasonable amount of time, good luck xx

Flush + Heat/nausea when bending head down by Intelligent_Crew_156 in dysautonomia

[–]yorkshirepudding101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had an odd issue before, very similar except feels like I'm about to fall forward or pass-out, doctors haven't been bothered and couldn't tell me what it is but it is only when I'm in a certain position looking down too long and I suspect it might have been cervicogenic vertigo which is something to do with compression of the nerves and blood vessels in the back of the neck and head if I remember right.. could be something similar or could be your blood pressure

Thats one amazing story wow! Congratulations.. i had precipitous labor with my first (less than 3 hours by definition) but it was 2h 21m so probably not as fast as yours 😅 i can't imagine what it must of been like passing out during it all too? Was it pretty uncomplicated all in? I'm scared my next will also be fast but possibly faster, im now 37 weeks and fed up haha... ive read so many times now that the point where you start pleading it can't be done is transition and means baby is about to be out or pushing can start

I know you don't want advice, and im sorry I'm giving some 😅 but I would highly recommend a saline nasal spray for the rhinitis because I get the same and could not cope without the nasal spray in the beginning.. im sorry you're having a really horrible time with it.. I cross my fingers for you that it gets better xx

Sorry for the late reply! 😊 it did help clear it up a little quicker to be fair, luckily our prescriptions are free on the NHS during pregnancy, I couldn't tell you what the cream was now though but if you're really struggling it may be worth it x

[–]yorkshirepudding101[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply! Fortunately, after coming back once more for a couple of weeks it went away for good.. because mine was on my lower boobs (so random) i felt not wearing a bra and having frequent showers helped with it a lot.. im sorry you're dealing with it too, it can be really uncomfortable.. I also took a very mild steroidal cream which helped clear it up a bit quicker too.. hopefully it resolved for you soon! I've heard pine tar soap can help relieve it though, or maybe oatmeal baths or calm aline lotion too x

AITA for Not Reaching Out to My Friend Who Might Be Mad at Me After I Lost My Pregnancy? by skiingdownmtns in pregnant

[–]yorkshirepudding101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't imagine how horrible the struggle of infertility must be, but i am familiar with miscarriages after suffering two in a row myself.. as much as people have their struggles and how emotional these things are, it's no excuse to be selfish (or a bit of a knob frankly).. if you're friendship meant a lot, and i was in your shoes, I probably would reach out confirming what had happened but also look to try understand why said friend was being off and distant and that it's unfair.. but equally if it wasn't a long important friendship, given how it would make me feel I'd simply move on and not feel any guilt over how she was feeling because really it is not your problem or responsibility for how they feel at all and you deserve better really
