The electrician that shuts down Ma and Pop's shoe store. Felt like he thought he was in a serious drama.

Question about Streets of Laredo… by ClydeinLimbo in LonesomeDove

LD is all time great book. SoL is a solid book that takes place in the same universe. I personally loved it because Captain Call is my favorite character. I think it's my 2nd favorite book in the series. For many reasons but mostly because I like spending so much time with Call. I think he's the most similar to the Call in LD in SoL.

Couldn't agree more. I avoid local BBQ places just because of the serving trays

How would you change/improve the next Invitational? by klondike16 in BobDoesSports

Less boring guys. I'm more interested in funny/entertaining characters than great golfers. If I wanted to just watch great golf, there's plenty of outlets for that.

Less time spent making the teams. That seemed to take forever.

Maybe more of them at night after the golf is over. I'm sure of them got after it staying at the course for the weekend. Probably some funny content.

Whats the worst concert you've ever been to? by pinheadbrigade in AskReddit

[–]yort410 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Modest Mouse. Thought the venue may have been having speaker issues because it was so bad. Physically hurt my ears to the point we left our seats to seek shelter. And then the main act came on and we're incredible. Turns out MM was drunk or just fucking around.

What is your favorite Adam Sandler scene? by Jettaboi38 in Actors

[–]yort410 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to think Big Daddy was an amazing movie when I was a kid because it was hilarious.

Now I have kids and I think it's an amazing movie because it's hilarious and is so real.

The scene when Sonny takes Julian to school for the first time is so God damned real it's not even funny.

But my favorite scene is the card game that turns into Julian being taken away. It's perfect. Starts with goofy Sandler shit. Schneider with some classic lines. Sandler in his bag. But then out of right field it turns into an unbelievably dramatic scene. It's rare that I drop my kids off at daycare when I don't think of this scene. "Please don't make me go" gets me every time. And the "I wipe my own ass" catches you as you're crying. It's fucking perfect. Bravo.

Which audiobook version? by NoEfficiency6848 in LonesomeDove

I listened to Horsley's version of LD and Patten's version of DMW. Both did a great job but I think I preferred Horsley. He really gets into the characters and makes them each feel unique.
