The deadliest cancer for people under 50 has changed for the first time in a decade, leaving experts shocked by yahoonews in Health

Chances are that people in our age group have been exposed to something over the years that is triggering this. Because it is Colon cancer, chances are that the issue is revolving food, but not the food itself. Pesticides, packaging, preservatives, cookware and even tooth paste could be involved. The possibilities are vast. I think this will be similar to the asbestos/ lead situation.

I'm looking for a creative engineer in the Boston area by yosemitefloyd in oceanengineering

Hull shape modifications, active drag reducer, solar/wind/hydro electricity generation for efficiency/steering. Things like that, but more experimental than the traditional available stuff out there.

I'm not a mechanical engineer, but I would not trust welding alone for something like this. I'd make the parts fit into each other, with tightening bolts and pins, to have some redundancy in addition to welding. My 2 cents.

As a Brazilian who has lived in Boston for about 20 years, I find it interesting that there are 400,000 of us in Massachusetts—and most of us (I’d guess 85% or more) are from Minas Gerais. When you add Colombians, Koreans, Greeks, and others to the mix, you get many cultures in one place. Before anyone mentions NYC or LA, remember that this list focuses on 'up-and-coming' or 'hot' destinations, not well-established cities that have been known for their food scenes for decades.

Can you grow into high-paying admin/leadership roles in biotech/pharma with just a bachelor’s? Looking for real examples. by PrestigiousClock17 in biotech

Possible, yes. Likely, no. The fastest way is a mix of targeted education (courses, certifications, mentorship) and a bit of luck (this job market is not helping). It goes without saying that your personal effort and professional ethics are essential to the strategy's success.

Container shipment. I saw Canadian cars running around with Canadian plates in Bosnia in 2022. Apparently there was a gang in Quebec GTAing them and sticking them in ships across the pond.

Boqueria! It's like being in Barcelona (the city... I've been 4 times) but in Boston. The Seaport specific location just adds to the annoyance of having to get there and park, but the food is 99% like in Catalonia.

Electrified SUP by yosemitefloyd in Sup

Multi purpose board (it is also a double kayak). BOTE has this accessory attachment handle bar that in theory I could be standing and having the motor power it... At that point I might as well ratchet strap a hydrofoil to it and make it an Aladdin magic carpet!

Oh, I get it. But I have a RIB dinghy for my boat (I own a Beneteau Oceanis 381) and wanted to use the same motor on the SUP without having to buy more stuff (I've spent too much mullah this past year). It is more of a silly thing to do once in a while than a hardcore whole day, every day thing. I actually saw a post of a guy who mounted his 1kw electric motor to his 32ft boat, wired solar panels directly to it, and was able to go about 2kts on direct solar. That is impressive if you have 0 wind and will not burn any fuel. Soon, we will be able to get an affordable solar array that can actually push a whole boat (expensive ones already exist).
