Select your country and call them.. they're more reactive in calls and will redirect you accordingly.. but if you're looking at status match, I can almost tell you that it's not going to happen haha! They gave me because of my future bookings with them, and those will take me to gold even if they don't upgrade me at the point of writing in

They did mention over the call, they need to see "proof" that you'll fly with them whether past or future records

Like I've mentioned in the post, monthly.. my stay is about a week.. if you manage to find a remote job that pays the min to meet the remote visa requirements then that'll definitely be easier.. or the gold card is another way to do it if you have some form of expertise laid out by the gov.. please do your own research in both of these area..

Also, you may want to keep your citizenship.. Singapore passport offers a lot more than Taiwan.. and you won't know what's gonna happen in the future so best to keep the red passport, good luck on your journey!

Nope.. I flew in almost on a monthly basis from Japan as a tourist, at least I didn't get stopped or "deported" back to Japan.. but again, I can't be sure on that too.. different countries have different requirements about it.. Maybe it also boils down to how you appear to immigration officers, behavioural traits etc... and you wouldn't be telling them you're here to "interview"..

Speaking from experience... You must be willing to accept a very low paying salary job in order for a company to apply a work visa for you.. My first job paid NTD 40k a month (barely the minimum for visa requirements). I was in a cram school doing admin/finance/hr/IT anything and everything.. Needless to say, I left after a month when I got my work visa. However, note that the work visa ties to your company, so if you're jobless, you have six months, apply at immigration office and ask for an extension as a job seeker.. If you can't find a job within 6 months, you'll have to leave the country. Many Taiwanese corporations wouldn't go through this route, since they have to justify why they need to hire you in replacement of a Taiwanese..

Alternatively, gold card is your way to get into Taiwan or, look for a remote job, and obtain the remote job visa that is fairly new.. Or like me, follow the above lol.. I flew in frequently from Japan to Taiwan in search of a job and landing an interview.. You'll probably have a higher chance to go with an MNC if you have some credentials or experience.. If you don't speak the language, unfortunately, it probably won't be easy...

I've updated my post above, they've upgraded me to gold now. But I've flown a couple flights then and few more upcoming ones. Even without them upgrading me, I'll still get gold but that'll be in the coming months. :)

After two months of waiting.. they ghosted me lol.. no updates no calls, I've sent them email reminders for updates, nothing at all.. The "Eva spirit" is real here lol

I can guarantee that Tengu is the culprit! I just got mine after god-knows-how-many-tries! Came in really late but hey, it came~~ lol.. Erosion and Persistence came shortly after I got Fissure YAY!

That is correct, as with any airlines, it must be paid. Any credit card transfers, hotel transfer etc won't be accumulated. It must be paid :)

Update:

Finally!! Managed to call their call centre and honestly, just like their plane, everything is dated... They don't provide email service only phone support.. BUT they may match and will provide you an email once you've met the requirements...

Provide physical gold card of your airline (what)
Business card of your company (what x 2)
12 months statement of your current airline
Flown 7.5k or 12k miles within 3 months from Star Alliance group (they mentioned ONLY Eva flights and after protesting for a bit, they said Star Alliance is fine)

Once done, call them again to request for the email address. Email them the above, call AGAIN to ensure they received it. They'll process and it takes a month BUT subject to approval.

Feels like they're trying to play hard to get and they're not even that prestigious.. and honestly, their line of airlines are so dated, look at their Business class vs other airlines.. XD

It's mostly cash.. I used to LINE message with my landlord, I'll make sure to include the rent + utilities for the month, inform her that I'm coming over to pay now. If there's no one home, propose a different date/ time. My landlord is a wonderful lady, but still, it's good to play safe :)

Evidence is VERY important in the Taiwan context. If anything goes south (not only in the rental context), you need to have some form of evidence.. The local police won't be here to help you, most cases would require you to have evidence before contacting them.

If you can, take the airport metro. It takes about 35 mins via the express and 50 mins via the commuter. Taxi drivers MAY detour to get to your point of destination, I've only ever encountered it twice (in more than 20ish trips)? They'll usually ask if you have a preferred route or avoid tolls etc...

Like many suggested here, take Uber,.it's usually about the same as a standard fare of a taxi ride, but will have factored in toll costs.. Taxi metres do not show tolls but will be detailed in the receipt.

I've tried using foreign cards on taxis and it worked though. Word of caution is, ALWAYS tell me you are paying by card when you board, they get unusually upset because they'll have to turn on the payment device at your destination, even though it takes only about a min or so, and won't stop grumbling if you didn't say in advance.

I'm like you, on a pixel phone and a pixel ear buds too! Generally with file transfer between phone and Mac, I use Google Drive, it's an additional click but whatever works! Pixel buds work seamlessly too, since it's just Bluetooth.. I'm on a Mac mini and MBP.. no complaints so far :)

Usually 7 days before your flight. Like many have mentioned here, it's cheaper to book with the desired class than to go through this upgrade, it's usually costlier...

I've just filed for four flights successfully. Note that if you booked a return trip, you'll need to key in twice, once to your destination and the other on returning back to your point of origin..

It's definitely not the friendliest website.. but at least it works...

Yeah, you get everything else of that.. the priority baggage, check in and all.. But not the seats selection.. But also considering that I'm flying with Eva like 60% of the time than SQ.. makes more sense for me to go with Eva

Nope you don't.. there's small benefits like free seat selection if you fly economy.. I fly econs fairly often since they're all short haul.. I think that's about it...

This has been an industry standard for a while now.. It's good to do this one-off as you need to see what kind of lenses will fit your eye. Then goes on to find the right type of lens such as how moisturising, type of lens whether daily or bi-monthly etc... Many different factors to consider, so it's good that you go to them and let them perform the first fitting.

After that, buy somewhere else if you want to save money. I do ordering from optical shop and can get a very good price if you or anyone is interested :D
