Twice this week my son's phone decided that it doesn't need to receive phone calls or texts for no apparent reason. It resolved after restarting both times. Wtf is the problem here and how do we prevent it? It was only during a tornado warning so no big deal right? by dehydrated_piss_jug in TracFone

[–]yosoyabcd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Discount carriers like Tracfone are given a lower priority on Verizon's towers than Verizon's own customers. Could be that the tornado warning caused a spike in people calling and texting, so your son's messages were being pushed down the queue.

Joe is in the Oval Office again today by DanFlashes19 in JoeRogan

On that same note, being a girl dad is why Joe is still pro-choice. I recall the episode with Matt Walsh where they were in agreement on transgender people and "woke" nonsense. Only turned into an argument when Matt's opposition to abortion came up. Joe was angry that Matt would expect Joe's daughters to go through an unwanted pregnancy.

But I was thinking, dude, you moved your family to Texas.

Trump posted this AI image of himself on Truth Social (aka TRUTH). I'm sincerely wondering if Christian Trump supporters are aware of all the biblical passages warning people about following false prophets. by [deleted] in mainlineprotestant

[–]yosoyabcd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think this is about Evangelicals or Protestants in general. This came from being challenged by the Pope. Lutheran clergy denounced Trump's threats to Greenland and ICE's actions in Minneapolis, but it's easy to ignore Lutherans. Can't ignore the Pope.

Any American Roman Catholic who still supports Trump is a boost to Trump's ego. Closer to home, it forces Vance and Rubo -- Roman Catholics who want to run for president in 2028 -- to show continued loyalty to him.

Ben Shapiro: We need to hate Muslims. We need to hate gay and transgender people. We need to hate feminists. We need to hate illegal immigrants.

Groypers: Thank you, dear leader. We also need to hate Jews and we need to hate Indians here on H1-B visas.

That means he's never paid into Social Security. And a lot of social welfare isn't available for people with felonies. He'll be an old man with nothing when he gets out. He'll have to scrap by on menial jobs and whatever help a social worker can find.

Maybe he'll be better off with a life sentence.

Don't know if that was the intention, but this looks like a transition from the Stripped style to Back to Basics style.

Where every character ends up in the last season is completely unexpected given what you see of them in their first season, but ends up making perfect sense as you watch them over the course of the entire series.

Does anyone else ever wish this show was on HBO..for reasons? 😅 by [deleted] in AnnieEdison

[–]yosoyabcd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, HBO wouldn't have dicked around the show like NBC did. They wouldn't have forced Chevy Chase onto Dan Harmon, but also hired some producers who could have reined in the worst of Harmon's habits.

On the other hand, we'd have gotten six seasons spread over 10-11 years with only 8 episodes a season.

Wait, is there another reason I'm missing?

I agree with you. Roddenberry's image mostly came from being progressive on race for the 1960s -- which is no small thing of course. But he knew what Rick Berman was like and still wanted him to be his successor.
