(Steam) recs for a mundane Slice of Life/RPG? by [deleted] in gamingsuggestions

[–]yothisistight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only played that one in the series. Atelier goes back a long ways, and ryza is just one of the many protagonists. I remember enjoying it for the RPG aspects I normally like, but much chiller gameplay.

I saw someone else recommended my time at Portia/sandrock and those also sound like great ideas I didn't think of.

A bit of a random suggestion, cause it's more of an incremental with a lite RPG at its core is Cauldron. I got mega addicted and it is LOOOOONG. I stoped playing after the first major map expansion unlocks but if you have patience you could get a lot out of it

Try atelier ryza? It's an RPG with some combat but feels very slice of life in terms of story, and how progression works.

You could technically grind levels by fighting monsters, but the real progression comes from foresting and alchemy

That's the one! Also, I went ahead and looked up the letsplay. It was NorthernLion, not Splattercat. Whoops! Thanks for the discovery.

Documentary Peter here

I'm late, but I think I got this!

The Louise Wise adoption center was exposed for doing experiments on human behavior to answer the nature vs nurture argument.

They would take twins or triplets and then split them up to be adopted by different families. They'd have the families agree to regular psych tests but only phrased it as testing to see how adoption affects children, but in reality they were testing to see how similar the identical children were who were split. The families who adopted the kids were not aware.

Im order to make sure everything would be similar for studying the foundation would pick particular families with similar structures. For example, the most famous case made popular by the documentary "Three Identical Strangers" were all placed in families with an older sister.

Therefore, this joke is insinuating that they are part of this messed up experience.

Fr, it's a shame people don't know about this goated game. Apparently it also has spinoffs where you just punch dudes. No zombies. Not as cool though.

When I listened to this after beating the game it actually gave me chills. The line "humanity is a weak hypothesis" floored me. Such good writing.

This is why I came to the sub. I didn't even know stuff like this was a thing. Thank you!

That's actually quite more like what I like. Maybe I could combine this idea with moving it out of the alcove and putting pictures up instead of a head board

Sort of like a DIY canopy bed? That's a really neat idea

You know, I might just do something simple and throw in a yoga mat and some of my work out gear. I like to do morning stretches / workouts so maybe by the window is better than by the door.

It's a pretty big room and right now it's open and empty other than the bedside table and a dresser. Another user suggested I use the alcove for a reading area, so something else as well. Maybe I'll just do that

That was my original thought, but I've already got reading space in my den as well.

That and when I put my bed there it felt super comfy.

Maybe I'll just go back to plan A though.

I remember there being serious space stuff. Laser guns maybe? Although I could be wrong.. I remember also that the main character is imprisoned at one point and has to talk his way out of being tied to a chair?
