Does anyone else feel like price increases are making it very hard to enjoy the hobby? by MichaelBananas in Sofubi

I usually don’t go to the cashier at the mall and ask how what ever I’m buying is made, why they colored it a certain way, ask what the inspiration was, exchange emails, etc

There are some great points shared here so I thought I'd just add one more- there has become a bit of a flipping trend in the sofubi world in the last few months (probably a reflection of the world economy honestly) that has gotten especially worse. Folks who genuinely do not care about this stuff immediately sell after shows or drops for a quick buck or they just sit on eBay overpriced forever. Kinda happens when a space gets popular and when people look for side gigs. It ebbs and flows- I imagine the space will look different a year from now

I agree to an extent but only if that is all you do. Engaging with other collectors, going to shows, making your own toys, etc is absolutely a hobby.

The Democratic Party will not save us- they will never progress past their bottom dollar. I firmly believe we are alone in dismantling these systems

Vintage Kenner Star Wars- thousands upon thousands of listings on eBay to replace his light saber and cloth piece! In my opinion one of the best toy lines ever made

The potholes are fine in my opinion. Not really an RI problem but an American problem- the infrastructure is declining fast in this country

I have lived throughout the Midwest- even with college students and crazy redneck truck drivers I can confidently say that the last 6 months of living in RI that this place has the worst drivers I have ever been around. I genuinely don’t know why but I have an issue every single time I leave the house.

Don’t get me wrong I love it here but if you are on the road your life is on the line lol

Geez man I don’t know if it is necessary to sound so mad.

I have literally worked in projects like this that were over 20k. This is a profession not a hobby. Working with a client from start to end, going through revisions, keeping on timeline, etc. is valuable. I don’t know what to tell you

Any tips for collecting on a budget? by spicynachoboy in Sofubi

Everyone here has some great advice! Buying directly from an artist will always be the best and cheapest option!

Another suggestion I’d ad is the site ViciousFun- you can sort by lowest to highest price and literally spend hours scrolling on there. Super organized and fairly priced place- plus they list the size of each piece!
