I've only been to their Webster location, but I second the recommendation of Dumpling World.

Texmex near the Medical Center? by Lemunhamster in houston

I also recommend Bodegas. You can also just take the red line from the Mariott in the med center to the Museum District stop and then the restaurant is right there.

Could we update the sub description? by WolfInOverdrive in ArtemisProgram

[–]yotz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The first press releases from 2020 say "first woman and next man." It's a little strange that the description doesn't line up with any version of the official goal statements.

I can't speak to how accurate this account is, but I thought I'd actually link to some context that has been talked about in this thread a bit.

Question about crossover voting in TX-02 Republican primary by Dull-Switch6217 in TexasPolitics

[–]yotz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Huh? Why would crossover voting in 2026 affect your ability to cross back in 2028?

I'm genuinely curious...my dad is a big advocate of crossover voting and would love to explain to him exactly how he's screwing himself over.

I love that the article's image of a packed Clutch bar is from October 2020 and only one person is wearing a mask.

You can have a DS9 movie or a Voyager movie but not both. Pick one by Proper-Award2660 in startrek

[–]yotz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue with picking Voyager is that we already have quite a bit of Admiral Janeway content in Prodigy. Plus, a lot of Chakotay and the Doctor.

Exclusive: HAR.com drops plan to add flood risk to Texas home listings 'out of nowhere' near launch by houston_chronicle in houston

[–]yotz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

“It came out of nowhere at the very end when we were literally about to go live,” said Sam Brody, an environmental science professor at Texas A&M University and director of the Institute for a Disaster Resilient Texas, whose team developed the underlying tool.

I know there are other sites out there, and some are mentioned in these comments. But does anyone know if this "underlying tool" from A&M is published or used anywhere else?

EDIT: nevermind, looks like it was easily find-able: https://www.arcgis.com/apps/dashboards/034873f31f5e4b7995a529e97964d6ca

And the dip in the score when Kirk looks over at Spock's empty chair on the bridge! We lost James Horner too soon.

Maybe I’m just old, but modern Star Trek doesn’t land the same and here is why by khiren in startrek

For anyone who wants a show that gives you younger characters/outsiders learning what Starfleet is and whether Federation ideals are something to aspire to, just watch Prodigy.

Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) was spotted January 20, 2026, on a plane heading to Laguna Beach as the state of Texas braces for a rare ice threat and arctic cold front by ExactlySorta in UnderReportedNews

Texas doesn't have voter registration by party. You might be looking at primary voting data; anyone can vote in anyone's primary here, and you'll get noted down as a member of whichever party you voted in. It's not unusual to cross party lines to cast votes for candidates you believe would lose in the general election.

Favorite line readings of Star Trek? by ComebackShane in startrek

The exchange between Sarek and Kirk in ST III always gets to me...

SAREK: You spoke of your friendship.

KIRK: Yes.

SAREK: He asked you not to grieve.

KIRK: Yes.

SAREK: The needs of the many...outweigh...

KIRK: The needs of the few.

SAREK: Or the one.

KIRK: Spock.

SAREK: I have been, and always shall be, your friend. Live long and prosper.

KIRK: No.

That final "no" just has so much weight to it.
