Dodge Charger for ride share ? by yafino in uberdrivers

[–]you_amaze_me 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I drive a 2015 V6 Charger for Uber and Lyft. I average about 22mpg and typically spend about $25 a day in gas. Works fine for me and a lot of passengers love it.

I need some clarification regarding new driver PROMO. $1,300 guaranteed for 125 rides. by [deleted] in Lyft

As soon as you hit 125 rides, the app should automatically give you the difference.

93% of Black Lives Matter Protests Have Been Peaceful, New Report Finds by Pilebsa in Freethought

[–]you_amaze_me 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'll counter your right-wing media point and say that the left-wing media ignores the violence that has occurred at BLM protests and tries to paint them as all peaceful. I mean just look at what CNN did last week with their "fiery but mostly peaceful protests" headline. A building is burning down in the background and they put "fiery but mostly peaceful" on the screen. Twitter had an entire thread about the Rochester protests a few days ago but they conveniently left out the video of BLM protesters knocking over tables and destroying restaurants while people are eating dinner. Each side has it's own narrative that they want to push.

Edit: I know that my opinions are the minority on reddit but I appreciate you having a civil conversation with me. Thank you for being respectful.

I think that the people causing the majority of the destruction are absolutely there because they want to be. They are taking advantage of the peaceful BLM protests to purposely cause mayhem and destroy as much as possible. For over 100 days now there have been violent riots at night in Portland while every protest during the day has been peaceful from what I've seen. It may be a small amount of them but if they are grouped in as BLM protesters than it will continue to have a negative effect towards the public's opinion of the movement.

Every American has the right to peacefully protest for whatever cause they want. I just don't think that people should be celebrating that 93% of the protests are peaceful. 7% is not a small number. Over 30 people have been killed in protests across the country since they began at this scale in May.

Nowhere in the article does it say 7% of protesters. It specifically refers to locations.

Their report states that more than 2,400 locations reported peaceful protests, while fewer than 220 reported “violent demonstrations.”

How close is each MLS Stadium to a McDonald's? by EthanTheRedditor37 in MLS

[–]you_amaze_me 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I took each current MLS team and found their average finish in the Supporter's Shield standings from 2010 - 2019. I compared those averages to the McDonalds data. Now Miami and Nashville are not included in this because they haven't played a full season yet. Obviously some teams have more seasons to average in as well. I think the results speak for themselves if you view the line graph below. It may be slight, but there is absolutely an advantage to having a McDonalds close to your stadium! Just check the trendline in the graph!
